Fifty years old Imtiaz Begum, a resident of Lahore has been a patient of diabetes for a long time. Six months ago, Imtiaz noticed an unusual swelling in her right breast. The swelling kept increasing. She got worried and therefore went for a consultation. Upon medical evaluation a tumor was found in her right breast. After running some tests, Imtiaz Begum was diagnosed with cancer and she was advised an immediate treatment for its cure. The doctor has now advised her to undergo a Radical Mastectomy with Axillary clearance.
Imtiaz Begum depends on her son financially. Her son is a laborer and earns PKR. 12,000 per month. In these tough times, and keeping in view their weak financial situation, Imtiaz Begum cannot afford the hefty amount of her surgery.
A friend of Imtiaz Begum’s son told them about Transparent Hands and that’s when they contacted us. We have registered her case and we are determined to help her.
Imtiaz shares her misery in the following manner.
“I have been fighting this monstrous disease for the past six months. At first, I took medicines for temporary relief but now it is vital for me to undergo a surgery. We can barely make our ends meet. In these circumstances it is very difficult for us to afford my surgery.”

Imtiaz Begum 's Story
Imtiaz Begum, 50 years old, was suffering from cancer in her right breast for a year. She was advised a modified radical mastectomy for her right breast – a procedure in which the entire breast is removed, including most of the axillary lymph nodes. Her surgery was done on 28-10-2021 by Dr. Ahmad Fawad at Lahore Care Hospital. She recovered well after the surgery. She remained admitted in the hospital for three days and was discharged in a stable condition. Slowly, Imtiaz Begum is starting to get back to her normal way of living.
