As the summer season began in its full swing across Pakistan, people in various cities have been warned about heat related health issues. People of Shorkot have seen a rise in temperature ever since the summer season has started. With increasing heatwaves, people are becoming the victims of many health issues including heat stroke, sore eyes, diarrhea, vomiting and skin diseases. People are advised to adapt preventive measures and stay indoors to avoid any such issues. Those living in rural areas have no other choice but to bear the scorching heat due to lack of basic necessities. They don’t even have clean drinking water to keep themselves hydrated.
Hospitals in the area have been on high alert as the temperature has increased. However, villagers are unable to receive the healthcare they need due to increased costs. A large number of heat stroke cases have been seen in the last 2 months. In some cases, heat stroke has resulted in many other complications including seizures or kidney failure.
There is a need to reach out to those who don’t have access to better healthcare. Through this medical camp, Transparent Hands aims to cater to the healthcare needs of hundreds of people and their families in Shorkot and also create awareness among them regarding the most prevailing health issues.
Donate for this medical camp and help transform the lives of deserving people of Shorkot!
