Amna Qasim's Story

Amna Qasim, a 32-year-old woman from Kasur, is 39 weeks pregnant and eagerly awaiting the arrival of her first child. She has been under the careful supervision of her gynecologist, who has closely monitored her throughout these past months. After assessing her condition, the doctor has planned an elective cesarean section to ensure a safe delivery for both the mother and baby. Unfortunately, the cost of the C-section is overwhelming for her family.

Without the necessary C-section, Amna and her baby’s health will be at risk. Not undergoing the C-section may lead to life-threatening complications such as uterine rupture, fetal distress, and obstructed labor.

Amna lives in a modest home with her three family members. Her heart is filled with both excitement and anxiety. While she dreams of holding her baby for the first time, her family’s financial struggles weigh heavily on her mind. Her husband works as a rickshaw driver, earning just PKR 22,000 a month. This modest income barely covers their household expenses, including PKR 5000 for utility bills, food, and other daily needs. Despite his hard work, her husband’s earnings are not enough to cover hospital bills, medicines, and post-delivery care. During this difficult time, they have contacted Transparent Hands and asked us for help.
