Nusrat Bibi's Story

Nusrat Bibi, a 45-year-old woman from Lahore, has been suffering from blurry and dim vision for a few months. Her condition has limited her ability to perform daily tasks. She consulted a doctor about her deteriorating eye condition, who did a thorough examination and diagnosed her with a cataract in her left right eye. The doctor recommended Phaco + IOL surgery to restore her vision. The surgery involves the removal of the natural lens of the eye affected by the Cataract and replacing it with an artificial intraocular lens.

Nusrat’s life was once filled with laughter and vibrant activities. The Cataract has taken away her ability to do all this and enjoy her life, leaving her feeling isolated and helpless.

Living in a one-room brick house, the family faces financial hardships to meet daily living expenses. Her husband, the sole breadwinner of the family, makes PKR 25,000. Additionally, the utility bills amount to PKR 5000 per month. Nusrat’s family longs to see her spending her life without any obstacles. Unfortunately, the financial burden associated with the surgery is overwhelming for them.

Nusrat shared her heartfelt plea as follows:

“I miss seeing my child’s face clearly. I just want to be the mother and wife I used to be. I need your support as we don’t have enough resources to pay for the surgery.”

Nusrat’s life has been marked by extreme challenges due to her dimmed and cloudy vision. She can’t take care of her child properly and is unable to do routine tasks due to a cataract.
