Change Sajid Hussain’s Life With an Artificial Leg
Sajid Hussain's Story
Meet Sajid Hussain, a 39-year-old man from Khanewal, who had a life-altering road accident a few years ago. His right leg was crushed badly in the accident. The condition led the doctors to amputate his right leg. Since then, Sajid’s life has been filled with hardships and obstacles. He spent his entire life working hard to provide for his family. Now, he is dependent on his family to carry out minor tasks and can’t provide for the family. His routine activities like walking to the market and getting in and out of bed have become significantly challenging. His doctor has advised that he should get a right above-knee prosthesis to regain mobility and improve his quality of life.
However, Sajid lives under the strain of financial hardships. He lives in a two-room rented mud house with his wife and two children who are students. Due to his disability, he is unable to work and his kind relatives provide financial assistance. His family cannot afford to pay for the artificial leg. However, without a prosthesis, his future is at stake and he will have to depend on others for support.
In this time of need, Sajid reached out to Transparent Hands and asked for help.
“I want to stand on my two feet again,” Sajid said with teary eyes.
“All I want is to be able to provide for my family and not feel like a burden. I dream of the day when I can carry out all my tasks and play with my children without pain or limitations. Please help me in getting the much-needed artificial leg.”
Sajid will be able to return to work, support his family, and lead a more fulfilling life by getting the prosthesis. Imagine the joy and relief on his children’s faces when they see their father walking again, playing with them, and providing for them.

Sajid Hussain's Story
Sajid Hussain, a thirty-nine-year-old man from Kabirwala, Khanewal, had a road accident a few years ago. The accident almost completely crushed his right leg, which had to be amputated to save his life.
The event completely changed Sajid’s life as he lost his ability to walk independently. He couldn’t work anymore. Sajid has two school-going sons. The boys often thought about how quickly their lives changed for the worse. The family lives in a rented house, where they have to pay PKR 3500 as rent and PKR 4000 for utility bills. The family is completely dependent on their relatives’ financial support for survival. There was no way they could afford the artificial prosthetic leg advised by Sajid’s doctor to restore his mobility.
The situation made Sajid bitter and he often thought about the fateful day he lost his leg. Sajid knew that he could get his life back on track. With the artificial leg, he could get back on his feet and find work to support his family. He knew that his family had supported him all the while, but they could not afford the expenses of his artificial leg. Sajid often expressed his frustration and helplessness to his relatives and neighbors. One of his neighbors, who knew about Transparent Hands, told him about the organization’s work. They reached out to us and registered his case. His artificial leg was attached at the Hope Rehabilitation Center, Lahore, by Dr. Khalid Niaz on September 25, 2024.
Sajid is very happy with his recovery and said, “The surgery has given me another opportunity to live actively. Now I can manage my routine activities and hopefully, I will soon get a job. I thank Transparent Hands and everyone who helped me all along.”
Sajid no longer has to depend on others and can take care of his family again.
