Haseena Bibi's Story

Haseena is a 17 years old girl, who has become a victim of her father’s financial constraints. Haseena lives in suburbs of Sargodha, called Thatha Panah, where life is almost nonexistent.  Her father works as a guard in private company and travels all the way to the city in order to earn merely 8000 Rs per month.

Haseena is suffering from chronic inflammation of Tonsils from the last 2 years. She experiences repeated attacks of pain and swelling in her throat accompanied by difficult swelling and high grade fever. She cannot even go for her routine checkups since it requires hours and hours of travelling.

At first, it was decided that Haseena’s condition should heal by medication but that was just not the case. Her swollen glands have started to appear clearly on her neck & jaws area. It has taken a very weird shape and surgery has become a need of the hour. She is diagnosed as a case of chronic tonsillitis.

Haseena has her whole life in front of her and she just cannot continue living with this kind of abnormality. She wants to get rid of the mass on her neck but there is no way that her poor father can afford her treatment. They have come all the way to Lahore, at Transparent Hands in order to find cure.
