“Rukhsana feels extreme pain both in her back and abdomen region because of the presence of hernia. This hernia originated about a year ago and has been causing excruciating pain since the past few months. The weight and pain she has to bear makes it difficult for her to carry out her chores. Rukhsana has been suggested immediate surgery by the doctors to permanently remove her hernia.
Rukhsana Shakoor is married but lives with her parents. She has three children who go to school. All the expenses of her family are somehow managed under her father’s pension, who used to be a security guard at a public school. Rukhsana’s husband does not involve himself much with the family or contributes in the expenses of his children. Rukhsana has no other source of income which is why she cannot afford the surgery.
