Tayyaba Naz's Story
Before you dive into the story, we want to let you know that Tayyaba Naz is in a lot of pain right now. Her financial situation is the only hurdle standing between her and the treatment she needs. Therefore, we urge you to please donate for Tayyaba’s knee replacement.
For the last seven years, forty-three-year-old Tayyaba Naz has been suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA). Rheumatoid Arthritis, is an autoimmune and inflammatory disease, which means that your immune system attacks healthy cells in your body by mistake, causing inflammation (painful swelling) in the affected parts of the body. RA mainly attacks the joints, usually many joints at once.
To treat this, the orthopedic surgeon has advised Tayyaba Naz to undergo a total knee replacement surgery. It is a surgical procedure to replace the weight-bearing surfaces of the knee joint to relieve pain and disability. While the knee replacement seems like an easy solution to all of Tayyaba Naz’s problems, it is certainly not an affordable solution for her. Tayyaba Naz cannot afford the hefty cost of this surgery. Tayyaba Naz’s husband is the sole earner of the family. He has a private job and he earns PKR 40,000 per month. With the responsibility of six individuals to provide for, he is in no position to save up for Tayyaba’s knee replacement surgery. He told us:
“At first I thought we could save for Tayyaba’s surgery but lately, she has been unable to even get up from the bed. It pains me to see her suffering like this. Please help me and my wife.”
After a lot of distress, Tayyaba Naz has requested Transparent Hands for help. We have assured her that we would arrange her surgery as soon as possible. Now, all we need is your help. Donate for Tayyaba’s knee replacement as much as you can.
