Sakina Bibi's Story

She is unable to sit or walk comfortably due to severe abdominal pain. Please help her!

Sakina Bibi is a 39 years old poor woman who lives in a small village of Sahiwal with her husband. They don’t have house of their own. They are living in a small house which is given to them temporarily by a landlord of village with five other families (husband’s brothers).  Sakina’s husband works as a labourer and hardly earns around 300 rupees a day. In such meager income, they struggle to make both ends meet. In these circumstances, Sakina’s health is deteriorating with each passing day and more than half of her husband’s income is spent on her medicines and checkups.

Around one year ago, Sakina Bibi experienced severe pain in her abdomen. She took medicines from a nearby clinic but that could only provide her temporary relief. She finally went to a hospital in the city where she was diagnosed with Gallbladder stones after undergoing some tests. Doctor recommended her to undergo surgery to remove the gallbladder. They went to many hospitals for free surgical treatment but didn’t receive any positive response. Sakina Bibi has lived with this pain for one year but now her symptoms are getting worse. She experiences abdominal pain, discomfort and vomiting due to which she is unable to perform her household chores. Her husband doesn’t have enough money to get her operated from a private hospital. When she came to know about Transparent Hands, she became excited to know that she’ll undergo surgery for free.
