Shahida Tariq resides in a rural area of Khanewal with her husband and 6 kids. All her kids go to school except her elder son who is working as an electrician. Her son is the only earning member of her family. He earns around 12,000 rupees every month from which he has to pay for his family expenses and also take care of his sick father. Shahida’s husband was also an electrician but around one year ago, he suffered from left sided paralysis. Since then, he is bedridden and not able to perform his daily activities. Shahida has to take care of all his needs but these days, her health is not allowing her to do anything.

Around 3 years ago, Shahida experienced pain in her right lumber area. She took medicines which could only provide her relief for some time. She visited a local hospital again where she underwent some tests. Shahida was diagnosed with Rt Renal lithiasis for which doctor advised her surgery. Due to lack of money, she didn’t pursue her treatment and suffered from this disease for 2 years. One year back, Shahida underwent lithotripsy but that could not cure her permanently.

Shahida’s pain has become unbearable for her now. She visited a few hospitals and requested them for free of cost surgical treatment, but there is already a long list of patients who are waiting for their surgery. Her son is unable to pay for her surgery as he has to take care of his father’s treatment as well. Luckily, this family came to know about Transparent Hands and their free surgical services.
