Usama Ijaz's Story

Help this 17 years old disabled boy so that he can get back to his healthy life and start supporting his family again

Usama was only 8 years old when his father died. After his death, Usama’s sister got married and his elder brother had to quit his studies to support the family. He started working in a shop earning only 11,000 rupees a month. Despite his income, this family is struggling day and night to make both ends meet. Usama’s mother also works as a caretaker and earns only 5,000 rupees a month. In this tough time, Usama had no option but to leave his studies and earn for his family. He started working for a small bakery shop but due to severe pain of sudden onset in his right hip, he couldn’t continue his job.

Usama who was once a bright student is now waiting for a miracle to happen in his life. He started feeling severe pain in his hip around four months ago. His pain increased with the passage of time and now, he is unable to walk or run resulting in his disability. Usama was diagnosed with slipped capital femoral epiphysis of right side. They visited many doctors but all of them suggested him to undergo surgery to correct and fix his femoral head. Usama and his family don’t have enough money to pay for surgical expenses. They contacted many local hospitals but they all refused to provide him free of cost surgical treatment due to long waiting lists of patients. Luckily, they came to know about Transparent Hands through a friend and they immediately came here.

Usama is now scheduled for his Cannulated Screw Fixation in a few days at PSRD (Pakistan Society for the Rehabilitation of the Disabled). His surgery will only be possible with your donations.
