Give Bashir Ahmed the Ability to See Again
Bashir Ahmed's Story
Bashir Ahmed, a 61-year-old man from Lahore, has been struggling with short-sightedness, and cloudy and dim vision. Upon consultation with a doctor, he was diagnosed with a cataract in his right eye. The cataract has stolen his ability to perform routine tasks and made him entirely dependent upon his family. Bashir was once a pillar of strength for his family, but now he struggles to navigate his surroundings. He bumps into things while walking around the home and crossing the streets. The doctor has advised Phaco + IOL surgery to restore his vision.
Bashir faces difficulty in brightly lit environments as the glare gives him discomfort and pain in his eyes. He longs to see his loved one’s faces. Unfortunately, he is unable to do so due to his visual impairment. Bashir faces financial constraints and cannot afford the cost of the much-needed surgery. He lives in a modest two-marla brick house with five family members. Bashir doesn’t work now and his sons work in a factory. However, their combined monthly income, which amounts to PKR 60,000, is still insufficient, and they barely cover the cost of utility bills, groceries, and other living expenses for the large family.
Bashir Ahmed said in despair:
“I am afraid of spending my remaining years in darkness. All I want is to regain my eyesight. Unfortunately, I don’t have enough resources to pay for the surgery. Please help me undergo the surgery.”
Bashir’s family turned to Transparent Hands and registered his case. We are leaving no stone unturned to support him. Your donation will provide him with a new hope and lifeline.
