Give to Heal Muhammad Abdullah’s Little Heart
Muhammad Abdullah's Story
Muhammad Abdullah, a 4-year-old boy from Dera Ghazi Khan, has been suffering from breathlessness and chest discomfort since birth. He is unable to gain weight and any mild to moderate physical activity makes him fatigued and breathless. His parents took him to a nearby hospital and consulted a doctor, who performed some lab tests and diagnosed him with Transposition of the Great Arteries (TGA) – an abnormal position of the heart’s two main arteries, Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD) – an abnormal opening between heart’s lower chambers, and severe Pulmonary Stenosis (PS). To fix the defects in his heart, the doctor recommended open-heart surgery for the Rastelli procedure. However, the surgical cost is beyond his family’s financial capacity.
Muhammad Abdullah’s skin and lips often take on a bluish color which is an alarming sign of not getting enough oxygen. If his condition is left untreated, he may not be able to beat the disease and may face arrhythmias or even heart failure.
Muhammad Abdullah lives in a modest house with his joint family of seven members. His father, the sole breadwinner of the family, is a school teacher and makes PKR 50,000 per month. This monthly income is insufficient to cover the living expenses of seven family members in addition to paying utility bills amounting to PKR 5000 and groceries. Furthermore, his family is burdened with a loan of PKR 130,000, which makes their financial situation worse. They have no savings at all and affording to pay for Muhammad Abdullah’s much-needed surgery is significantly challenging for them. During this difficult time, his parents reached out to Transparent Hands and asked us for help.
Muhammad Abdullah’s parents said in despair:
“It’s not easy for us to see Muhammad Abdullah fighting for life. The thought that we may lose him if he doesn’t get the surgery, is unbearable for us. His friends are growing, but he is falling behind in many aspects. We wish to give him a bright future, but we don’t have enough money to pay for his surgery. We request you to kindly help us save our child.”
Muhammad Abdullah’s life depends on this surgery. Therefore, we need your support to correct his heart defects. Together, we can change his life and allow him to reclaim his life.
Come forward and give Muhammad Abdullah a healthy heart.

Muhammad Abdullah's Story
Muhammad Abdullah, a 4-year-old boy from Dera Ghazi Khan, has faced breathlessness and chest discomfort since birth. His inability to gain weight and persistent fatigue have significantly affected his daily activities and childhood. Even mild physical exertion left him breathless and exhausted. Deeply concerned about his condition, his parents took him to a nearby hospital for consultation. After running thorough lab tests, the doctors diagnosed him with multiple congenital heart defects, including Transposition of the Great Arteries (TGA), Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD), and severe Pulmonary Stenosis (PS). To correct these life-threatening abnormalities, the doctor advised open-heart surgery for Rastelli procedure.
Muhammad Abdullah lived in a modest home shared by seven family members. His father, a school teacher earning PKR 50,000 per month, struggled to meet the family’s basic needs. Despite their determination to save their son, Muhammad Abdullah’s family found themselves unable to bear the cost of the surgery. Saving enough money for the surgery was far beyond their financial means. In their search for help, Muhammad Abdullah’s family reached out to Transparent Hands. Moved by their plight, we registered his case.
On December 08, 2024, Muhammad Abdullah was admitted to Ittefaq Hospital in Lahore. Under the skilled care of cardiac surgeon Dr. Asim Khan, he underwent the complex Rastelli procedure on December 10, 2024. The surgery successfully restored the blood flow in circulation. Muhammad Abdullah remained in the hospital for seven days to recover under expert medical supervision and was discharged in stable condition on December 17, 2024.
Muhammad Abdullah’s parents expressed their heartfelt gratitude as follows:
“Our son now has a chance to live a normal and fulfilling life. Watching him suffer was unbearable, but today, we are hopeful for his future. We are deeply thankful to you for supporting our son’s surgery and saving his life.”
After the successful surgery, Muhammad Abdullah now enjoys improved health. His family is immensely grateful to you and the Pakistan Children’s Heart Foundation for playing a vital role in changing his life.
