Give to Repair Yashfa Nadeem’s Heart Defects
Yashfa Nadeem's Story
Yashfa Nadeem, a brave 16-year-old boy from Layyah, has been suffering from shortness of breath, cyanosis, and chest discomfort since birth. His parents took him to a nearby hospital and received a consultation from a doctor, who conducted some medical tests and diagnosed Yashfa with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), a condition characterized by four heart defects.
Simple activities that other children enjoy like running or playing make him breathless. He is not gaining proper weight and his lips and skin often take on a bluish color. To treat the defects in his heart, the doctor recommended TOF repair surgery. However, the surgical cost is overwhelming for Yashfa’s family.
This surgery is a life-saving procedure for Yashfa and the doctors confirmed their worst fears: without surgery, Yashfa’s condition would continue to worsen, and may lead to severe developmental delays, heart failure, or even death. Yashfa lives in a modest rented house with his parents and six siblings. His two siblings are studying and the other ones are younger. His father, the sole breadwinner in the family, works as a daily wage laborer and earns just PKR 17000 per month. They are struggling to make ends meet and affording the surgery is beyond their financial reach.
After struggling for a while, Yashfa’s family learned about Transparent Hands and asked us for help. We listened to their concerns and registered Yashfa’s case.
Yashfa described his concerns as follows:
“The discomfort is overwhelming, and I am afraid that I won’t get the care I desperately need to heal. Without it, my future feels uncertain. I wish I could live a healthy life. Please help me.”
The TOF repair surgery will allow Yashfa to grow and thrive without the limitations caused by his heart defects. However, he can’t beat the disease alone due to his family’s financial hardships. He needs your support to get a second chance at life.
To allow him to begin a new chapter in his life, contribute for his surgery as much as you can. Yashfa’s life depends on this surgery, and with your help, we can make it possible.
