Humera Shahid's Story
Humera awaits Ileostomy Reversal. Before you begin to read the gory details of Humera’s ailment, please know that you can help her. Your donation, however small it may be, will help Humera get a normal life. Therefore, we request you to please donate for Humera’s Ileostomy as much as you can.
When Humera was one years old, she felt a sudden pain in her abdomen. The pain was so severe that it brought tears to her eyes and her parents rushed to the doctor immediately. After some tests and an exploratory laparotomy the doctor diagnosed it to be tuberculosis of the intestines. Therefore, to cure it, they had to perform a loop ileostomy. To form a loop ileostomy, a loop of the small intestine is pulled out through a cut in your abdomen.
As the last step of the procedure, Humera needs to undergo an Ileostomy Reversal which will put her life on a normal path. It is done to reverse the ileostomy so Humera can have bowel movements like she did before your surgery. But, unfortunately, Humera’s parents cannot afford the hefty cost of an Ileostomy Reversal surgery. Humera’s father is a daily wage worker and hardly manages to earn PKR 12,000 per month. With this income, he is in no position to arrange for his daughter’s surgery. He told us:
“Every day I see my daughter suffer. I do not think I can do much about it. I need help to get my daughter back to being healthy and happy. Whoever is reading this, I request you to please donate.”
After a lot of distress, with the help of their doctor, Humera’s parents have decided to register their case with Transparent Hands. We are determined to help her as much as you can. As Humera awaits Ileostomy Reversal, therefore, we request you to please donate for her procedure as much as you can.
