Ilsa Bilawall's Story

Ilsa Bilawall, a four-year-old girl from Vehari, Punjab, has experienced chest discomfort and shortness of breath since birth. While children of her age are typically healthy and active, she lacks vitality and strength. Even the slightest of movements takes a toll on her body and leaves her gasping for breath.

Her parents took her to a local doctor, who performed a thorough examination and diagnosed her with Transposition of the Great Arteries (TGA), Univentricular Heart (UVH), and Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD). The doctors advised Angiography and CP Shunt (Open-Heart Surgery). However, the steep cost of the surgery is beyond his family’s means.

Ilsa’s condition requires surgical intervention. Without the necessary surgery, she faces the risk of life-threatening complications, including cardiac failure.

Ilsa lives in a small four-marla house with five other members, including two siblings. Her father works overseas and earns PKR 65000 per month. The family pays PKR 14000 in utility bills, while PKR 8000 is paid to cover the educational expenses of her siblings. This leaves the family in a precarious financial situation. Hence, they cannot afford Ilsa’s surgery.

During this difficult time, her family reached out to Transparent Hands for assistance. We reviewed Ilsa’s case and registered it. Ilsa’s mother said:

“Ilsa is a very bright child. However, she always seems tired and exhausted. She is fighting a tough battle, but I am sure she will recover well if she undergoes the surgery. We cannot afford the cost of the surgery. Please donate for Ilsa’s surgery.”

Ilsa’s family is hopeful and awaits your support. Your generosity can help her receive the necessary cardiac surgery and give her hope for a healthy future. Let’s act quickly and support Ilsa’s open-heart surgery.
