Sadam Hussain's Story

Sadam Hussain, an 18-year-old boy from Faisalabad, has been facing severe health issues since birth. He has long suffered from shortness of breath, fatigue, and heart palpitations, which have affected not only his daily life but also his ability to keep up with his friends. Activities as simple as walking or lifting light objects leave him breathless and drained. Recently, Sadam’s condition worsened, prompting his family to take him for a detailed cardiac evaluation. After performing various diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed him with severe Mitral Stenosis (MS) and severe Tricuspid Regurgitation (TR). These defects disrupt the flow of oxygenated blood in his body.

To save his life, the doctor advised that Sadam should undergo Mitral Valve Replacement (MVR) and Tricuspid Valve Repair (TVR). These procedures are essential to prevent the progression of his condition, which may otherwise lead to irreversible heart damage, heart failure, or even sudden death.

Sadam comes from a financially struggling family. His father works as a laborer and earns just PKR 35,000 per month, supporting a household of seven, including Sadam and his four siblings. The family lives with constant financial hardships, managing utility bills of PKR 6,000 and educational expenses of PKR 5,000. With Sadam unable to work due to his deteriorating health, they are left with no means to arrange for the costly heart surgery.
