Alisha Bibi, a 7-year-old girl from Rahim Yar Khan, has spent her entire childhood suffering from breathlessness and chest discomfort. Alisha cannot run, play, or walk long distances without gasping for air. Her lips and skin often take on a bluish color, a clear sign of inadequate oxygen levels in her blood. Concerned for her well-being, Alisha’s parents recently took her to a hospital for a thorough check-up. After performing several diagnostic tests, the doctor diagnosed her with Tetralogy of Fallot (TOF), a complex congenital heart defect. Due to this condition, her heart cannot pump oxygenated blood efficiently throughout her body. The doctor has advised angiography followed by open-heart surgery for total correction. However, the cost of the surgery is beyond her family’s means.

Without this life-saving procedure, her condition would only worsen. It may potentially lead to irreversible damage or even loss of life.

Alisha lives in a modest home along with her parents and two siblings. Her father works as a laborer and earns only PKR 15,000 per month. With this meager income, he struggles to meet the household’s basic needs, including utility bills and food expenses. Their financial situation makes it impossible for them to pay for Alisha’s much-needed surgery. Her condition is worsening day by day, and she is unable to live a healthy life. During this time of despair, her family has contacted Transparent Hands and asked for help.
