Zahida BiBi's Story

Zahida Bibi, a 52-year-old resident of Lahore, is experiencing blurry and dimmed vision due to a Cataract in her left eye. She always found joy in the little things like performing household chores and playing with her children. The cataract has dimmed her vision and stolen her ability to experience her surroundings like she used to. Upon consultation with a doctor, she was advised to undergo Phaco + IOL surgery for her left eye.

Zahida lives in a modest 3-marla mud house with her two children. Her son works to the point of exhaustion but his meager income of PKR 20,000 is barely enough to meet their daily needs, especially after they pay PKR 5000 for utility bills. The cost of the surgery is an additional financial burden that looms over the family and one which is out of their reach.

Zahida said in despair:

“I miss the time when I used to do all household tasks and take care of my family without any difficulty. My world has become so small and dark. I want to overcome this situation as soon as possible. Your donations can help me undergo the recommended surgery.”

Zahida faces difficulty in recognizing her loved one’s faces and is dependent upon her family for many chores. Despite their immense love, her family is unable to cover the cost of the surgery.
