Maqbool Akhtar's Story

Before diving into the gory details of Maqbool Akhtar’s illness, we want you to know that you can ease her pain by giving a donation for her surgery. Please donate for Maqbool Akhtar’s right  Nephrolithotomy as much as you can.

Maqbool Akhtar, aged 40 years, a resident of Sargodha, suffered from intense pain in her right abdominal area. She went to the doctor for heer examination and test reports revealed that she had renal stones in her right kidney. The doctor advised her for a surgery called Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy. Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy (PCNL) is a minimally-invasive procedure to remove stones from the kidney by a small puncture wound (up to about 1 cm) through the skin.

However, Maqboola’s family is already undergoing financial distress. Her son works in a factory and earns only PKR. 12,000 per month. In these circumstances, managing the monthly expenses of three members of his family becomes very difficult for him. Maqbool is very much stressed due to her financial constraints. She narrates her sorrow in following words:

“When my husband died, I was left alone to support my family. I supported them as much as I could. After my son grew up he went to a factory to earn bread. But a factory worker can only earn bread for three people. Affording a surgery will never be possible for him. I know he is working hard to get my surgery done but I know he will not be able to manage these bills. I hope Transparent Hands helps us get through this state of helplessness.”

Maqbool was referred to us by her physician. We want to help her in the completion of her treatment. Therefore, we request you to donate generously for Maqbool Akhtar’s right Nephrolithotomy. Your financial assistance would be deeply appreciated by her family.
