Sher Ali Awaits Cochlear Implant Surgery
Sher Ali 's Story
Sher Ali is living in a world filled with silence and isolation due to his hearing loss. His defect has a surgical treatment, but his family cannot afford it owing to financial restraints. With your kind donation, you may give him the gift of hearing, and his family will remember you for the rest of their life. Sher Ali awaits cochlear implant surgery that will make his life happier.
Four-year-old Sher Ali, a resident of Dera Ismail Khan, was born with congenital sensorineural hearing loss. When he was a year old, his parents became concerned because he was not reacting to their voices. His parents took him to the nearest hospital, where he underwent testing. He was diagnosed with sensorineural hearing loss after a consultation. He was advised by the doctor to have cochlear implant surgery. A cochlear implant is a tiny electronic device that electrically stimulates the cochlear nerve (hearing nerve). The implant contains both external and internal components.
He lives in a rented house with his parents and five siblings. His father is the only breadwinner in the family and earns PKR 20,000 per month. His father’s financial position won’t allow him to pay for the surgery. He said it in despair.
“The treatment required for our son to regain his hearing is extremely expensive.” We want our boy to respond to our voices and play with other children his age. However, his hearing problem is giving him a lot of anxiety. Could you help us?”
His father contacted Transparent Hands to register his son’s case. Sher Ali awaits cochlear implant surgery to discover the world of sounds. We urge you to donate generously to his surgery to help him communicate with his loved ones.
