Zahid Needs Surgery to Overcome Oral Cavity Cancer

Syed Zahid Ali's Story
Syed Zahid Ali, a 64-year-old man from Lahore, has been suffering from a non-healing woun on tooth extraction site in his mouth for six months. This issue started after the extraction of a mobile tooth, but the problem only worsened over time. He has undergone multiple extractions since then due to the increasing pain and infected wound. For the past month, Zahid has experienced severe pain, inability to chew properly, and a constant feeling of heaviness in his lower lip and cheek area. These symptoms have made it extremely difficult for him to eat, speak, and carry out everyday tasks.
After consulting a doctor, Zahid was diagnosed with Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC) of the Oral Cavity, specifically in the right mandibular alveolar ridge. The doctor has advised him to undergo tumor resection, functional neck dissection, and reconstruction with a re-con plate. Unfortunately, Zahid can’t afford his surgery.
This surgery is critical for Zahid’s survival and quality of life. Without timely surgical intervention, the cancer may spread to nearby tissues and lymph nodes, leading to life-threatening complications.
Zahid lives in a joint family of nine members in a modest home in Lahore. He is no longer able to work due to his deteriorating health. His son is the sole breadwinner of the family, does a private job, and earns PKR 60,000 per month. This income barely covers their essential expenses, including groceries and utility bills. With the rising cost of living and the burden of supporting a large household, there is no way the family can afford the high cost of Zahid’s complex surgical procedure. They do not own property or have any savings to depend on. Zahid’s illness has not only affected him physically but also taken an emotional toll on his entire family. The fear of losing him weighs heavily on his loved ones, who are desperately seeking a source of hope.
Zahid said with teary eyes:
“This illness is consuming me day by day. I feel helpless as I watch my family worry about me. I want to recover and fulfill my responsibilities. Kindly help me receive this surgery.”
Your support can give Zahid a second chance at life. Even a small contribution can make a huge difference in his life.

Syed Zahid Ali's Story
Zahid Ali, a 64-year-old man from Lahore, had spent the last six months struggling with a medical condition that started after a simple tooth extraction. The extraction site developed a non-healing wound that didn’t improve despite multiple treatments. Over time, he had to undergo more extractions due to the increasing pain and spreading infection. He experienced severe pain, inability to chew food, and a persistent feeling of heaviness in his lower lip and cheek. Desperate for relief, Zahid consulted a doctor at a local hospital. After a comprehensive medical evaluation, the doctor diagnosed Zahid with Squamous Cell Carcinoma (SCC) of the oral cavity, located in the right mandibular alveolar ridge. The only path forward was a combination of complex procedures—tumor resection, functional neck dissection, and reconstruction with a re-con plate. Unfortunately, the cost of this life-saving surgery was beyond Zahid’s means.
Zahid lives in a modest home with his extended family of nine members. Once a hardworking man, he is now unable to work due to his declining health. His son, who holds a private job and earns PKR 60,000 a month, is the sole provider for the entire family. After covering monthly expenses, including food, and utilities, there's nothing left to save for Zahid’s medical treatment. During this difficult time, Zahid contacted Transparent Hands and asked for assistance. After knowing about his situation, we swiftly registered his case.
On May 8, 2025, Zahid was admitted to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Lahore. His surgery was remarkably performed by Dr. Asad Aizaz Chattha. Zahid’s surgery was a success and he was discharged in satisfactory condition on May 10, 2025.
Zahid expressed his emotions as follows:
“I had lost all hope, but your support has given me a second chance. Thank you for standing by me when I needed it the most.”
After undergoing surgery, Zahid is now free from unbearable pain and he is recovering now. He can eat better, speak more clearly, and return to daily life with comfort.
His family extends their heartfelt gratitude to you, as your kindness helped Zahid reclaim his life.
