Farman’s Single Event Multilevel Surgery was Successful

Farman Ali's Story

Farman Ali, a 6-year-old boy from Naushahro Feroze, Sindh, had been living with severe mobility challenges since birth. Diagnosed with cerebral palsy, Farman could not walk or run like other children of his age. He struggled to straighten his legs and relied heavily on support just to stand or move. Determined to find a solution, his parents recently took him to a local hospital, where he underwent a thorough medical evaluation. The doctor discovered multiple contractures on Farman’s limbs and advised a Single Event Multilevel Surgery (SEMLS) as the best option to correct the deformities. However, the cost of the surgery was far beyond his family’s financial means.

Farman’s father, a vegetable vendor, works long hours in the local market and earns around PKR 30,000 per month. Despite his hard work, this income is barely enough to cover household essentials for his large family of eight. With so many dependents, saving for Farman’s surgery seemed impossible. During their time of need, the family reached out to Transparent Hands. We registered Farman’s case, and through your generous support, we were able to provide him with the necessary surgery.

On April 7, 2025, Farman was admitted to Isra University Welfare Hospital, Hyderabad. On April 8, 2025, his surgery was successfully performed by Dr. Fahad. After proper post-operative care and monitoring, Farman was discharged from the hospital in stable condition on April 9, 2025.

Farman’s parents expressed their emotions as follows:
“We never thought our son would get this chance to walk. Watching him stand on his own feet brings tears to our eyes. We are deeply grateful to you for helping our son undergo the surgery.”

Today, Farman’s life has taken a hopeful turn. With continued care, he is expected to walk independently in the near future.
