Mehtab Sajjad 's Story

Mehtab Sajjad Ali, a 36-year-old woman from Hyderabad, was filled with anticipation and joy as she awaited the arrival of her two precious babies. In the 31st week of pregnancy, she visited her doctor for a routine follow-up. Her doctor told her that she is expecting twins. Unlike her previous eight deliveries, all of which were natural, the doctor advised her to undergo a C-section for this pregnancy due to the high risks involved. Though this medical recommendation was essential for the safety of the mother and babies, it came with a financial burden that Mehtab’s family could not afford.

Mehtab lives in a small home with her husband, eight children, and extended family. Her husband works as a laborer, earning just PKR 20,000 per month. With this limited income, he struggles to support not only his wife and children but also his elderly mother and siblings. Due to their financial constraints, affording to pay for Mehtab’s surgery was impossible for them. During this time of need, Mehtab reached out to Transparent Hands. On April 4, 2025, Mehtab was admitted to Isra University Welfare Hospital in Hyderabad. Her C-section was performed by Dr. Nishat Zohra. With proper medical care and a skilled surgical team, Mehtab gave birth to two healthy baby girls. She received post-operative care and was discharged in good health on April 6, 2025.
