Muhammad Rohan's Story

Muhammad Rohan, a 5-year-old boy from Gujrat, had never known the joy of hearing his parents’ voices or the sounds of nature around him. At an age when most children are developing speech and asking curious questions, Rohan struggled to express even his basic needs. His parents grew increasingly worried as they noticed his inability to respond to sounds. Hoping to find answers, they took him to a nearby hospital where he underwent a thorough medical evaluation. The doctor diagnosed Rohan with congenital sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL), a condition that prevents sound signals from reaching the brain. His doctor advised cochlear implant surgery. However, this life-changing surgery was beyond his family’s means.

Rohan lives in a small house with his six family members. His father, a police officer, is the family’s sole breadwinner. His income just covers their daily household expenses, utility bills, and the children’s education. Saving enough for such an expensive procedure was out of the question. Determined to help their son, Rohan’s family turned to Transparent Hands. After reviewing his case, we quickly registered his case.

With the help of kind-hearted donors, Rohan was admitted to Evercare Hospital, Lahore. On April 16, 2025, Dr. Imran Saeed successfully inserted the internal component of the cochlear device. Rohan received post-operative care and was discharged in stable condition on April 17, 2025.

After six weeks, the external device was successfully installed. Rohan will begin his speech therapy sessions to communicate properly. Rohan’s family said with tear-filled eyes:

“Hearing him respond to sounds for the first time brought tears to our eyes. Your support gave him the gift of hearing and opened a new chapter in his life. We’ll never forget this kindness. Thank you for changing our son’s world.”

Rohan’s life has taken a beautiful turn. He can now explore the world through sounds.
