Naseem Akhter’s Cholecystectomy was Successful

Naseem Akhter's Story
Naseem Akhter, a 52-year-old woman from Karachi, was experiencing immense challenges due to pain in her upper right abdominal region. Alongside this persistent pain, she suffered from frequent episodes of nausea and vomiting, particularly after consuming fatty meals. Her condition had begun to affect her daily life, leaving her physically exhausted and emotionally drained. Deeply concerned, Naseem visited a local hospital where the doctor conducted a detailed evaluation, including an ultrasound and lab tests. She was diagnosed with Cholelithiasis—a condition caused by the formation of gallstones in the gallbladder. The doctor recommended laparoscopic cholecystectomy, a procedure to remove the gallbladder and provide long-term relief from her symptoms. However, the cost of the surgery was far beyond what her family could afford.
Naseem lives in a modest rented home with her husband and their seven children. Her husband, who worked as a daily wage laborer, earned just PKR 25,000 a month. This small income was barely enough to cover the household’s rent, utility bills, and daily necessities. Saving for surgery was simply impossible under these financial constraints. During their time of desperation, Naseem and her family turned to Transparent Hands for help. We reviewed her case and quickly registered her. The generosity of our donors enabled us to arrange surgery for Naseem at one of the hospitals on our panel.
On March 24, 2025, Naseem was admitted to Murshid Hospital in Karachi. Her surgery was successfully performed by Dr. Vijay Kumar, and it went smoothly without any complications. After proper post-operative care and monitoring, Naseem was discharged in good health on March 25, 2025.
She shared her gratitude in these heartfelt words:
“This pain had taken over my life, but now I finally feel healthy. I can move, eat, and sleep without suffering. Thank you for standing by me and making this healing possible.
Today, Naseem is recovering well and has resumed her normal life.
She and her family are incredibly thankful to you, as your generosity brought her healing and hope.
