Samina Bibi Safely Delivered a Baby Boy

Samina Bibi's Story

Samina Bibi Ashfaq, a 34-year-old woman from Multan, anxiously awaited the arrival of her second child. She had a previous history of one C-section which filled her heart with concerns about the safe delivery of her unborn child. She consulted a doctor, who ran some diagnostic tests and an ultrasound scan and found that Samina had a high-risk pregnancy and needed another C-section. This news left her anxious and uncertain about the future. She wanted nothing more than a safe delivery of her baby, but the overwhelming medical expenses were impossible to bear.

Samina lives in a two-room mud house with her husband and one child. Her husband, the sole breadwinner in the family, works as a cobbler and earns just PKR 10,000 monthly. With this insufficient monthly income, they were struggling to make ends meet and hardly managing the cost of utility bills, and groceries. They had no savings at all and paying for the surgery was beyond their financial capacity. During this time of need, Samina contacted Transparent Hands and asked us for assistance. Recognizing the gravity of her situation, we promptly registered her case.

On 9th July 2024, Samina was admitted to Bakhtawar Amin Memorial Hospital in Multan. The surgery took place on 10th July 2024. Dr. Bushra Khan skillfully performed the procedure. The surgery was successful, and Samina delivered a healthy baby boy, bringing a wave of joy to her family. Samina was hospitalized for four days and received post-operative care. On 12th July 2024, she recovered and was discharged in a stable condition.

Samina Bibi was happy and she expressed her emotions as follows:

“I was so scared about how we would afford the surgery. However, thanks to the donors, my baby and I are both safe. I can’t express how grateful I am for this kindness.”
