Shehnaz Has Found Relief After Hysterectomy

Shehnaz Amjad's Story

Shehnaz Amjad, a 45-year-old woman from Lahore, had been battling with constant discomfort and pain for the past four months. She suffered from irregular and heavy menstrual bleeding that gradually affected her physical and emotional well-being. Simple everyday tasks became exhausting, and caring for her family became a growing challenge. Concerned about her health, Shehnaz visited a local hospital where the doctor advised a series of diagnostic tests, including an ultrasound scan. After a thorough evaluation, she was diagnosed with uterine fibroids. To address the issue, the doctor recommended a Total Abdominal Hysterectomy (TAH) with Bilateral Salpingo-Oophorectomy (BSO). However, her family was unable to pay for her surgery.

Shehnaz lives in a modest two-room house in Lahore with her husband and two children, who are currently attending school. Her husband works as a daily wage laborer, earning only PKR 30,000 a month. With this limited income, the family struggles to meet their basic needs, including food, school fees, and utility bills. There was no way they could afford the surgery on their own. In desperate need of help, Shehnaz turned to Transparent Hands. After listening to her concerns, we promptly registered her case.

On January 31, 2025, Shehnaz was admitted to Akram Medical Complex in Lahore. Her surgery was successfully performed by Dr. Asia on the same day. After receiving excellent post-operative care, she was discharged in a stable condition on February 2, 2025.
