Changed Faiza’s Life

Faiza Behram's Story

Faiza Behram, a 43-year-old woman from Karachi, had been battling with heavy menstrual bleeding, lower abdominal pain, and extreme fatigue for the past five years. These distressing symptoms were affecting her physical and emotional well-being. The constant weakness and discomfort made it nearly challenging for her to manage household chores. Faiza visited a hospital for a thorough checkup. The doctors conducted several tests and diagnosed her with uterine fibroids. To restore her health and relieve her suffering, the doctor advised a TAH with BSO. It was the only effective solution to eliminate the fibroids and prevent further complications. However, the cost of the surgery was a major hurdle for Faiza and her family.

Faiza lived in a modest rented home with her husband and four children. Her husband, a rickshaw driver, earns just PKR 30,000 per month. With this limited income, the family struggles to cover rent, utilities, and the educational expenses of their children. Saving for surgery was simply out of the question. During their search for help, Faiza and her family reached out to Transparent Hands. After understanding her condition and financial constraints, we promptly registered her case.

On February 19, 2025, Faiza was admitted to Murshid Hospital in Karachi. Dr. Farkhanda Saeed successfully performed the Total Abdominal Hysterectomy with Bilateral Salpingo-Oophorectomy, and it went smoothly. Faiza was closely monitored post-operatively and was discharged in stable condition on February 21, 2025.

Faiza expressed her gratitude in these words:
“I had been in pain for so long that I forgot what normal life felt like. This surgery has lifted a huge burden off me. I finally feel light and hopeful again. Thank you for significantly improving my quality of life.”

Faiza is now recovering well and gradually regaining her strength. Her days are no longer filled with discomfort, and she is once again able to care for her family.

She and her loved ones are deeply thankful to you for making her recovery possible.
