You Changed Noor’s Future with Cochlear Implant Surgery

Noor Ul Ain, a 1-year-old girl from Bahawalpur, had lived in complete silence since birth. While most children of her age begin to respond to voices, smile at familiar sounds, and react to their surroundings, Noor remained unresponsive. She didn’t turn her head when called or show any reaction to sudden noises. Worried about her condition, Noor’s parents took her to a doctor. After a series of diagnostic tests and a thorough medical evaluation, the doctor diagnosed her with congenital sensorineural hearing loss and recommended cochlear implant surgery. However, the surgical cost was overwhelming for her family.

Noor lives in a modest home with her parents. Her father works as a laborer, while her mother serves as a police constable. Despite both parents working hard, their combined monthly income just covers their household expenses. Saving enough for such an expensive procedure was not possible for them. During their time of need, Noor’s family turned to Transparent Hands for help. Understanding the nature of her condition, we immediately registered her case.

With the support of kind donors, Noor was admitted to Evercare Hospital in Lahore. Dr. Imran Saeed successfully performed the cochlear implant surgery. The internal component was implanted on April 16, 2025. After receiving post-operative care, she was discharged in satisfactory condition on April 17, 2025.

We are delighted to share that the external component of Noor’s cochlear implant has now been successfully installed. She has begun responding to sounds, marking a beautiful and emotional milestone for her family. Noor will also continue to receive speech therapy sessions to help her develop hearing and speech abilities.
