You Changed Tahir’s Life with Cataract Surgery

Muhammad Tahir's Story
Muhammad Tahir, a 34-year-old man from Muzaffargarh, had been struggling with blurry and dim vision for a long time. His deteriorating eyesight began to interfere with his daily responsibilities, particularly his role as an Imam. After a series of medical tests, the doctor diagnosed him with a cataract in his right eye, a condition that clouds the natural lens and causes significant visual impairment. The doctor recommended Phacoemulsification with Intraocular Lens (Phaco + IOL) surgery to restore his vision. However, the cost of the surgery was beyond his reach.
Tahir lives in a modest home with his wife and three young children. As the sole breadwinner, he earns just PKR 12,000 per month as an Imam. This modest income is barely enough to cover their basic household expenses, including food and utility bills. Saving for surgery was simply not possible, and the fear of permanent vision loss weighed heavily on the family. During this difficult time, Tahir reached out to Transparent Hands for assistance. Understanding the nature of his situation, we promptly registered his case.
On March 22, 2025, Tahir was admitted to Bakhtawar Amin Memorial Trust Hospital in Multan. His right Phaco + IOL surgery was successfully performed on March 24, 2025, by Dr. Safeez. The procedure went smoothly, and Tahir was discharged in stable condition on the same day.
Tahir expressed his happiness as follows:
“You’ve brought light back into my life. I can now perform my daily tasks with ease. Your support has restored not just my vision, but my confidence too.”
With your support, Tahir has now regained his eyesight. He can once again perform his duties with confidence.
Tahir and his family expressed their heartfelt gratitude to you for making his surgery possible.
