Tayyaba Bibi's Story

Tayyaba Bibi, a 36-year-old woman from Karachi, was suffering from persistent upper right abdominal pain that often intensified after meals. Her symptoms, including nausea and indigestion, disrupted her daily life. Over time, she also developed a painful bulge near her belly button, making even simple tasks difficult. Concerned about her worsening condition, Tayyaba finally visited a local hospital. After a thorough medical evaluation, she was diagnosed with Cholelithiasis (gallstones) and a Paraumbilical Hernia. The doctor recommended a Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal) along with Umbilical Hernia Repair. However, the cost of the treatment was out of her family’s reach.

Tayyaba lived in a small home with her husband and four children. Her husband worked as a driver for a private company, earning only PKR 32,000 per month. Their limited income barely covered essential expenses like groceries and school fees for their children. The cost of the recommended surgeries was far beyond their means. Faced with growing pain and no financial solution, Tayyaba reached out to Transparent Hands for help. Moved by her story, we registered her case.

With the support of generous donors, Tayyaba was admitted to Altamash Hospital, Karachi. On April 8, 2025, Dr. Abdul Waheed successfully performed her surgeries. She remained under post-operative observation and received proper care. She was discharged in stable condition on April 10, 2025.

Tayyaba now feels relieved and is free from the constant pain that affected her for years. She shared her joy and gratitude with us as follows:
