Zohan’s Cataract Surgery Was a Remarkable Success

Muhammad Zohan, a 4-year-old boy from Multan, had been struggling to see the world around him since birth. Walking around his home and playing with his toys was a significant challenge for him. Worried about his condition, his parents took him to a nearby hospital and consulted a doctor. After performing some medical tests, the doctor diagnosed Zohan with cataract in both of his eyes. With the support of Transparent Hands, Zohan underwent surgery for his left eye in February 2025. After some time, his doctor advised LMA+ IOL surgery for his right eye. However, Zohan’s family was unable to pay for his surgery.

Zohan lived in a modest home with his parents. His father, the sole provider for the family, worked as a daily wage laborer and made just PKR 30,000 per month. After paying for house rent and utility bills, they were left with nothing to save for medical expenses. At a young age, Zohan faced immense challenges due to his eye condition. Their financial constraints made it impossible for them to cover the cost of Zohan’s surgery. During this difficult time, Zohan reached out to Transparent Hands and asked for help.

On April 11, 2025, Zohan was admitted to Bakhtawar Amin Memorial Trust Hospital in Multan. His surgery was scheduled for April 12, 2025. Dr. Asif successfully performed his cataract surgery. After receiving post-operative care, Zohan was discharged in satisfactory condition on the same day after the surgery.

Zohan’s parents were overwhelmed with happiness and said:
