Transparent Hands organized and managed a free Medical and Surgical camp at SOS Children’s Village, Lahore. This camp was organized and managed by Transparent Hands in association with Life Hospital. The purpose of setting up this camp was to provide basic health facilities to the orphaned children in Pakistan, their house mothers, and respective staff residing in the said locality. Our camp team consisted of thirteen members including one supervisor, one patient registrar, three doctors (two male and one female), one pharmacist, two lab technicians, one staff nurse, one photographer, and two crew workers.

In total, 133 children and other residents turned up at the camp of SOS Children’s Village, Lahore. All COVID SOPs were followed by the camp team. Children and all other attendees were encouraged to wear face masks and use hand sanitizers. Testing facilities for Complete Blood Count tests (CBC), blood sugar levels, and blood pressure were provided to the children. An awareness session was also conducted on personal hygiene for the children.

The majority of the cases examined by the doctors consisted of patients suffering from stomach issues, joints and muscular pains, and various types of allergies. Free, appropriate medication was provided to such patients. Three surgical cases were found in this camp. The said patients have been registered with us for treatment. Further medical care shall be provided to them at our relevant panel hospitals in Lahore.

Team Transparent Hands, extends gratitude to the director of SOS children’s village, who made this camp possible. The director of SOS village also distributed certificates to the volunteers. In the future, we look forward to organizing such camps where we can be of service to the impoverished in Pakistan, and facilitate them with health care. We believe health care to be a primary, and basic right of all human beings.
