Ayat-ul-Kursi, The Verse of the Throne

اللَّهُ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ لَا تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلَا نَوْمٌ لَّهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الْأَرْضِ مَن ذَا الَّذِي يَشْفَعُ عِندَهُ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَلَا يُحِيطُونَ بِشَيْءٍ مِّنْ عِلْمِهِ إِلَّا بِمَا شَاءَ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضَ وَلَا يَئُودُهُ حِفْظُهُمَا وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ ۝

Allahu la ilaha illa huwal-hayyul-qayyum, la ta'khudhuhu sinatuw-wala nawm, lahu ma fis-samawati wa ma fil-ard, man dhalladhi yashfa'u 'indahu illa bi-idhnih, ya'lamu ma bayna aydihim wa ma khalfahum, wa la yuhituna bi shay'im-min 'ilmihi illa bima sha', wasi'a kursiyyuhus-samawati wal-ard, wa la ya'uduhu hifdhuhuma, wa huwal-'aliyyul-'azim

“ Allah , there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Self-Sustaining. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is [presently] before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursī extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great. ”

Surah Al-Falaq, Protection from Magic and Envy

قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ ۝ مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ ۝ وَمِن شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ ۝ وَمِن شَرِّ النَّفَّاثَاتِ فِي الْعُقَدِ ۝ وَمِن شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ ۝

Qul a'udhu birabbil-falaq. Min sharri ma khalaq. Wa min sharri ghasiqin idha waqab. Wa min sharrin-naffathati fil-'uqad. Wa min sharri hasidin idha hasad

“ Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak, from the evil of that which He created, and from the evil of darkness when it settles, and from the evil of the blowers in knots, and from the evil of an envier when he envies." ”

Surah An-Nas, Protection from Evil Whisperings

قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ ۝ مَلِكِ النَّاسِ ۝ إِلَٰهِ النَّاسِ ۝ مِن شَرِّ الْوَسْوَاسِ الْخَنَّاسِ ۝ الَّذِي يُوَسْوِسُ فِي صُدُورِ النَّاسِ ۝ مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَالنَّاسِ ۝

Qul a'udhu birabbin-nas. Malikin-nas. Ilahin-nas. Min sharril-waswasil-khannas. Alladhi yuwaswisu fi sudurin-nas. Minal-jinnati wan-nas

“ Say, "I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, the Sovereign of mankind, the God of mankind, from the evil of the retreating whisperer who whispers [evil] into the breasts of mankind , from among the jinn and mankind." ”

Surah Al-Ikhlas, Affirmation of Faith

قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ ۝ اللَّهُ الصَّمَدُ ۝ لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ ۝ وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌ ۝

Qul huwallahu ahad. Allahus-samad. Lam yalid wa lam yulad. Wa lam yakul-lahu kufuwan ahad

“ Say, "He is Allah, [who is] One. Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, nor is there to Him any equivalent." ”

The First Repentance

رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنفُسَنَا وَإِن لَّمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ الْخَاسِرِينَ ۝

Rabbana zalamna anfusana wa il-lam taghfir lana wa tarhamna lanakunanna minal-khasireen

“ Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves, and if You do not forgive us and have mercy upon us, we will surely be among the losers. ”

Those Who Say "Our Lord, We Have Believed"

رَبَّنَا إِنَّنَا آمَنَّا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ ۝

Rabbana innana amanna faghfir lana dhunubana waqina adhaban-nar

“ Our Lord, indeed we have believed, so forgive us our sins and protect us from the punishment of the Fire. ”

Those Who Persevere , Forgiveness After Struggle

رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَإِسْرَافَنَا فِي أَمْرِنَا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا وَانصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ ۝

Rabbana ighfir lana dhunubana wa israfana fi amrina wa thabbit aqdamana wansurna alal-qawmil-kafireen

“ Our Lord, forgive us our sins and the excess [committed] in our affairs and plant firmly our feet and give us victory over the disbelieving people. ”

"Our Lord, We Have Heard a Caller"

رَبَّنَا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا ذُنُوبَنَا وَكَفِّرْ عَنَّا سَيِّئَاتِنَا وَتَوَفَّنَا مَعَ الْأَبْرَارِ ۝

Rabbana amanna faghfir lana dhunubana wa kaffir anna sayyi'atina wa tawaffana ma'al-abrar

“ Our Lord, so forgive us our sins and remove from us our misdeeds and cause us to die among the righteous. ”

The Forgiveness of Musa (AS) for Himself and His Brother

رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِأَخِي وَأَدْخِلْنَا فِي رَحْمَتِكَ وَأَنتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ ۝

Rabbi ighfir li wa li-akhi wa adkhilna fi rahmatika wa anta arhamur-rahimeen

“ My Lord, forgive me and my brother and admit us into Your mercy, for You are the most merciful of the merciful. ”

The Ultimate Verse of Forgiveness & Mercy

رَبَّنَا لَا تُؤَاخِذْنَا إِن نَّسِينَا أَوْ أَخْطَأْنَا رَبَّنَا وَلَا تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْنَا إِصْرًا كَمَا حَمَلْتَهُ عَلَى الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِنَا رَبَّنَا وَلَا تُحَمِّلْنَا مَا لَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِهِ وَاعْفُ عَنَّا وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارْحَمْنَا أَنتَ مَوْلَانَا فَانصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ ۝

Rabbana la tu'akhidhna in naseena aw akhta'na, rabbana wa la tahmil alayna isran kama hamaltahu alal-ladhina min qablina, rabbana wa la tuhammilna ma la taqata lana bih, wa'fu anna waghfir lana warhamna, anta mawlana fansurna alal-qawmil-kafireen

“ Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we have forgotten or erred. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear. And pardon us; and forgive us; and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people. ”

Believers Asking for Forgiveness and Mercy

رَبَّنَا آمَنَّا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارْحَمْنَا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ الرَّاحِمِينَ ۝

Rabbana amanna faghfir lana warhamna wa anta khayrur-rahimeen

“ Our Lord, we have believed, so forgive us and have mercy upon us, and You are the best of the merciful. ”

The Comprehensive Short Dua for Forgiveness & Mercy

رَبِّ اغْفِرْ وَارْحَمْ وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ الرَّاحِمِينَ ۝

Rabbi ighfir warham wa anta khayrur-rahimeen

“ My Lord, forgive and have mercy, and You are the best of the merciful. ”

The Supplication of Prophet Nuh (AS) for Himself and His Parents

رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِمَن دَخَلَ بَيْتِيَ مُؤْمِنًا وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ

Rabbi ighfir li wa li-walidayya wa liman dakhala baytiya mu'minan wa lil-mu'mineena wal-mu'minat

“ My Lord, forgive me and my parents and whoever enters my house a believer and the believing men and believing women. ”

The Angels' Prayer for Forgiveness of Believers

رَبَّنَا وَسِعْتَ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ رَّحْمَةً وَعِلْمًا فَاغْفِرْ لِلَّذِينَ تَابُوا وَاتَّبَعُوا سَبِيلَكَ وَقِهِمْ عَذَابَ الْجَحِيمِ ۝

Rabbana wasi'ta kulla shay'in rahmah wa 'ilman faghfir lilladhina tabu wattaba'u sabilaka wa qihim adhabal-jaheem

“ Our Lord, You have encompassed all things in mercy and knowledge, so forgive those who have repented and followed Your way and protect them from the punishment of Hellfire. ”

The Plea of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) for Judgment Day Forgiveness

رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لِي وَلِوَالِدَيَّ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ يَوْمَ يَقُومُ الْحِسَابُ ۝

Rabbana ighfir li wa li-walidayya wa lil-mu'mineena yawma yaqoomul-hisab

“ Our Lord, forgive me and my parents and the believers the Day the account is established. ”

The Dua of Prophet Musa (AS) for Any Good

رَبِّ إِنِّي لِمَا أَنزَلْتَ إِلَيَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَقِيرٌ ۝

Rabbi inni lima anzalta ilayya min khayrin faqeer

“ My Lord, indeed I am, for whatever good You would send down to me, in need. ”

Sustenance from Heaven

رَبَّنَا أَنزِلْ عَلَيْنَا مَائِدَةً مِّنَ السَّمَاءِ تَكُونُ لَنَا عِيدًا لِّأَوَّلِنَا وَآخِرِنَا وَآيَةً مِّنكَ وَارْزُقْنَا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ الرَّازِقِينَ ۝

Rabbana anzil alayna ma'idatam-minas-sama'i takunu lana 'idal-li-awwalina wa akhirina wa ayatam-minka warzuqna wa anta khayrur-raziqeen

“ Our Lord, send down to us a table [spread with food] from the heaven to be for us a festival for the first of us and the last of us and a sign from You. And provide for us, and You are the best of providers. ”

The Most Comprehensive Dua for Success

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي الدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي الْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ النَّارِ ۝

Rabbana atina fid-dunya hasanah wa fil-akhirati hasanah wa qina adhaban-nar

“ Our Lord, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire. ”

Fulfill Your Promise , Success in the Hereafter

رَبَّنَا وَآتِنَا مَا وَعَدتَّنَا عَلَىٰ رُسُلِكَ وَلَا تُخْزِنَا يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ۗ إِنَّكَ لَا تُخْلِفُ الْمِيعَادَ ۝

Rabbana wa atina ma wa'attana ala rusulika wa la tukhzina yawmal-qiyamah, innaka la tukhliful-mee'ad

“ Our Lord, and grant us what You promised us through Your messengers and do not disgrace us on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed, You do not fail in [Your] promise. ”

Dua for Patience and Death in Faith

رَبَّنَا أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًا وَتَوَفَّنَا مُسْلِمِينَ ۝

Rabbana afrigh alayna sabran wa tawaffana muslimeen

“ Our Lord, pour upon us patience and let us die as Muslims [in submission to You]. ”

Seek Help Through Patience and Prayer

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا اسْتَعِينُوا بِالصَّبْرِ وَالصَّلَاةِ ۚ إِنَّ اللَّهَ مَعَ الصَّابِرِينَ ۝

Ya ayyuhal-ladhina amanu ista'inu bis-sabri was-salah, inna Allaha ma'as-sabireen

“ O you who have believed, seek help through patience and prayer. Indeed, Allah is with the patient. ”

The Essential Dua for Increasing Knowledge

رَبِّ زِدْنِي عِلْمًا ۝

Rabbi zidni 'ilma

“ My Lord, increase me in knowledge. ”

The Dua of Prophet Musa (AS) for Eloquence, Strength, and Understanding

رَبِّ اشْرَحْ لِي صَدْرِي ۝ وَيَسِّرْ لِي أَمْرِي ۝ وَاحْلُلْ عُقْدَةً مِّن لِّسَانِي ۝ يَفْقَهُوا قَوْلِي ۝

Rabbi ishrah li sadri. Wa yassir li amri. Wahlul 'uqdatan min lisani. Yafqahu qawli

“ My Lord, expand [i.e., relax] for me my breast [with assurance]. And ease for me my task. And untie the knot from my tongue. That they may understand my speech. ”

The Dua for Parents' Mercy

رَبِّ ارْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرًا ۝

Rabbi irhamhuma kama rabbayani sagheera

“ My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up [when I was] small. ”

Thanking Allah for Parents' Blessings

رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِي أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَالِدَيَّ وَأَنْ أَعْمَلَ صَالِحًا تَرْضَاهُ وَأَصْلِحْ لِي فِي ذُرِّيَّتِي إِنِّي تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ وَإِنِّي مِنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ ۝

Rabbi awzi'ni an ashkura ni'matakallati an'amta alayya wa ala walidayya wa an a'mala salihan tardahu wa aslih li fi dhurriyyati, inni tubtu ilayka wa inni minal-muslimeen

“ My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to work righteousness of which You will approve, and make righteous for me my offspring. Indeed, I have repented to You, and indeed, I am of the Muslims. ”

The Dua of Prophet Zakariyya (AS) for a Righteous Child

رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِن لَّدُنكَ ذُرِّيَّةً طَيِّبَةً إِنَّكَ سَمِيعُ الدُّعَاءِ ۝

Rabbi hab li min ladunka dhurriyyatan tayyibah, innaka sami'ud-du'a

“ My Lord, grant me from Yourself a good offspring. Indeed, You are the Hearer of supplication. ”

The Dua of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) for Righteous Offspring

رَبِّ هَبْ لِي مِنَ الصَّالِحِينَ ۝

Rabbi hab li minas-saliheen

“ My Lord, grant me [a child] from among the righteous. ”

Mercy from Allah's Presence

رَبَّنَا آتِنَا مِن لَّدُنكَ رَحْمَةً وَهَيِّئْ لَنَا مِنْ أَمْرِنَا رَشَدًا ۝

Rabbana atina milladunka rahmah wa hayyi' lana min amrina rashada

“ Our Lord, grant us from Yourself mercy and prepare for us from our affair right guidance. ”

The Believers' Testimony

رَبَّنَا آمَنَّا فَاكْتُبْنَا مَعَ الشَّاهِدِينَ ۝

Rabbana amanna faktubna ma'ash-shahideen

“ Our Lord, we have believed, so register us among the witnesses. ”

Entry into Paradise by Mercy

رَبَّنَا وَأَدْخِلْهُمْ جَنَّاتِ عَدْنٍ الَّتِي وَعَدتَّهُمْ وَمَن صَلَحَ مِنْ آبَائِهِمْ وَأَزْوَاجِهِمْ وَذُرِّيَّاتِهِمْ ۚ إِنَّكَ أَنتَ الْعَزِيزُ الْحَكِيمُ ۝

Rabbana wa adkhilhum jannati adninillati wa'attahum wa man salaha min aba'ihim wa azwajihim wa dhurriyyatihim, innaka antal-azizul-hakeem

“ Our Lord, and admit them to gardens of perpetual residence which You have promised them and whoever was righteous among their forefathers, their spouses and their offspring. Indeed, it is You who is the Exalted in Might, the Wise. ”

Gratitude for the Removal of Grief

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَذْهَبَ عَنَّا الْحَزَنَ ۖ إِنَّ رَبَّنَا لَغَفُورٌ شَكُورٌ ۝

Alhamdu lillahil-ladhi adhhaba annal-hazan, inna rabbana laghafurun shakur

“ Praise to Allah, who has removed from us [all] sorrow. Indeed, our Lord is Forgiving and Appreciative. ”

The Dua of Prophet Ayyub (AS) for Removal of Harm

أَنِّي مَسَّنِيَ الضُّرُّ وَأَنتَ أَرْحَمُ الرَّاحِمِينَ ۝

Rabbi inni massaniyad-durru wa anta arhamur-rahimeen

“ Indeed, adversity has touched me, and You are the most merciful of the merciful. ”

The Dua of Prophet Yunus (AS) from the Darkness

لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا أَنتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ ۝

La ilaha illa anta subhanaka inni kuntu minadh-dhalimeen

“ There is no deity except You; exalted are You. Indeed, I have been of the wrongdoers. ”

The Dua of Prophet Nuh (AS) for a Safe Outcome

رَبِّ أَنزِلْنِي مُنزَلًا مُّبَارَكًا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ الْمُنزِلِينَ ۝

Rabbi anzilni munzalam-mubarakan wa anta khayrul-munzileen

“ My Lord, let me land at a blessed landing place, and You are the best to accommodate [us]. ”

Supplication for Relief from Punishment

رَبَّنَا اكْشِفْ عَنَّا الْعَذَابَ إِنَّا مُؤْمِنُونَ ۝

Rabbana ikshif annal-adhaba inna mu'minoon

“ Our Lord, remove from us the torment; indeed we are believers. ”

The Dua of the Afflicted

الَّذِينَ إِذَا أَصَابَتْهُم مُّصِيبَةٌ قَالُوا إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ ۝

Alladhina idha asabat-hum musibatun qalu inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un

“ Who, when disaster strikes them, say, "Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we will return." ”

The Dua of Prophet Sulayman (AS) of Gratitude

رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِي أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ الَّتِي أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَالِدَيَّ وَأَنْ أَعْمَلَ صَالِحًا تَرْضَاهُ وَأَدْخِلْنِي بِرَحْمَتِكَ فِي عِبَادِكَ الصَّالِحِينَ ۝

Rabbi awzi'ni an ashkura ni'matakallati an'amta alayya wa ala walidayya wa an a'mala salihan tardahu wa adkhilni bi-rahmatika fi ibadikas-saliheen

“ My Lord, enable me to be grateful for Your favor which You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents and to do righteousness of which You approve. And admit me by Your mercy into [the ranks of] Your righteous servants. ”

Save Us from the Torment of Hell

رَبَّنَا اصْرِفْ عَنَّا عَذَابَ جَهَنَّمَ إِنَّ عَذَابَهَا كَانَ غَرَامًا ۝

Rabbana isrif anna adhaba jahannama inna adhabaha kana gharama

“ Our Lord, avert from us the punishment of Hell. Indeed, its punishment is ever adhering. ”

Protect Them from Evils , The Angels' Prayer

وَقِهِمُ السَّيِّئَاتِ وَمَن تَقِ السَّيِّئَاتِ يَوْمَئِذٍ فَقَدْ رَحِمْتَهُ وَذَٰلِكَ هُوَ الْفَوْزُ الْعَظِيمُ ۝

Wa qihimus-sayyi'at, wa man taqis-sayyi'ati yawma'idhin faqad rahimtah, wa dhalika huwal-fawzul-'azeem

“ And protect them from the evil consequences [of their deeds]. And he whom You protect from evil consequences that Day , You will have given him mercy. And that is the great attainment. ”

The Supreme Dua of Prophet Yusuf (AS)

رَبِّ قَدْ آتَيْتَنِي مِنَ الْمُلْكِ وَعَلَّمْتَنِي مِن تَأْوِيلِ الْأَحَادِيثِ فَاطِرَ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ أَنتَ وَلِيِّي فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ تَوَفَّنِي مُسْلِمًا وَأَلْحِقْنِي بِالصَّالِحِينَ ۝

Rabbi qad ataytani minal-mulki wa 'allamtani min ta'weelil-ahadith, fatiras-samawati wal-ardi anta waliyyi fid-dunya wal-akhirah, tawaffani musliman wa alhiqni bis-saliheen

“ My Lord, You have given me [something] of sovereignty and taught me of the interpretation of dreams. Creator of the heavens and earth, You are my protector in this world and the Hereafter. Cause me to die a Muslim and join me with the righteous. ”

Death with the Righteous

رَبَّنَا آمَنَّا فَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارْحَمْنَا وَأَنتَ خَيْرُ الرَّاحِمِينَ ۝

Rabbana amanna faghfir lana warhamna wa anta khayrur-rahimeen

“ Our Lord, we have believed, so forgive us and have mercy upon us, and You are the best of the merciful. ”

For Entry and Exit

رَّبِّ أَدْخِلْنِي مُدْخَلَ صِدْقٍ وَأَخْرِجْنِي مُخْرَجَ صِدْقٍ وَاجْعَل لِّي مِن لَّدُنكَ سُلْطَانًا نَّصِيرًا ۝

Rabbi adkhilni mudkhala sidqin wa akhrijni mukhraja sidqin waj'al li milladunka sultanan naseera

“ My Lord, cause me to enter a sound entrance and to exit a sound exit and grant me from Yourself a supporting authority. ”

Dua for Travel , The Supplication of the Journey

سُبْحَانَ الَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ وَإِنَّا إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا لَمُنقَلِبُونَ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَسْأَلُكَ فِي سَفَرِنَا هَٰذَا الْبِرَّ وَالتَّقْوَىٰ، وَمِنَ الْعَمَلِ مَا تَرْضَىٰ، اللَّهُمَّ هَوِّنْ عَلَيْنَا سَفَرَنَا هَٰذَا وَاطْوِ عَنَّا بُعْدَهُ، اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ الصَّاحِبُ فِي السَّفَرِ وَالْخَلِيفَةُ فِي الْأَهْلِ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ وَعْثَاءِ السَّفَرِ وَكَآبَةِ الْمَنْظَرِ وَسُوءِ الْمُنْقَلَبِ فِي الْمَالِ وَالْأَهْلِ

Subhanalladhi sakhkhara lana hadha wa ma kunna lahu muqrinin, wa inna ila rabbina lamunqalibun. Allahumma inna nas'aluka fi safarina hadhal-birra wat-taqwa, wa minal-'amali ma tarda. Allahumma hawwin 'alayna safarana hadha watwi 'anna bu'dah. Allahumma antas-sahibu fis-safar, wal-khalifatu fil-ahl. Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min wa'tha'is-safar, wa ka'abatil-manzar, wa su'il-munqalabi fil-mali wal-ahl

“ Glory to Him who has subjected this to us, and we could never have accomplished it by ourselves. And indeed, to our Lord we will surely return. O Allah, we ask You on this journey of ours for righteousness and piety, and for deeds that please You. O Allah, make this journey easy for us and fold up its distance. O Allah, You are the Companion on the journey and the Guardian over the family. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the hardship of travel, from a sorrowful sight, and from an evil return regarding wealth and family. ”

Dua on Leaving the Home

بِسْمِ اللَّهِ، تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى اللَّهِ، وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ

Bismillah, tawakkaltu 'alallah, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah

“ In the name of Allah; I place my trust in Allah; and there is no might nor power except with Allah. ”

Dua When Returning from a Journey

آيِبُونَ، تَائِبُونَ، عَابِدُونَ، لِرَبِّنَا حَامِدُونَ

Ayibuna, ta'ibuna, 'abiduna, li rabbina hamidun

“ We return, repentant, worshipping, and praising our Lord. ”

The Verse of Healing , Qur'an as Shifa

وَنُنَزِّلُ مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ مَا هُوَ شِفَاءٌ وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۙ وَلَا يَزِيدُ الظَّالِمِينَ إِلَّا خَسَارًا ۝

Wa nunazzilu minal-Qur'ani ma huwa shifa'un wa rahmatun lil-mu'minin, wa la yaziduz-zalimeena illa khasara

“ And We send down of the Qur'an that which is healing and mercy for the believers, but it does not increase the wrongdoers except in loss. ”

The Dua of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) in Illness

وَإِذَا مَرِضْتُ فَهُوَ يَشْفِينِ ۝

Wa idha maridtu fahuwa yashfeen

“ And when I am ill, it is He who cures me. ”

Healing for the Hearts , A Call to All Mankind

يَا أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ قَدْ جَاءَتْكُم مَّوْعِظَةٌ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ وَشِفَاءٌ لِّمَا فِي الصُّدُورِ وَهُدًى وَرَحْمَةٌ لِّلْمُؤْمِنِينَ ۝

Ya ayyuhan-nasu qad ja'atkum maw'izatum mir rabbikum wa shifa'un lima fis-sudur, wa hudan wa rahmatul lil-mu'minin

“ O mankind, there has come to you instruction from your Lord and healing for what is in the breasts and guidance and mercy for the believers. ”

Guidance and Cure for the Believers

قُلْ هُوَ لِلَّذِينَ آمَنُوا هُدًى وَشِفَاءٌ ۖ وَالَّذِينَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ فِي آذَانِهِمْ وَقْرٌ وَهُوَ عَلَيْهِمْ عَمًى ۚ أُولَٰئِكَ يُنَادَوْنَ مِن مَّكَانٍ بَعِيدٍ ۝

Qul huwa lilladhina amanu hudan wa shifa', walladhina la yu'minuna fi adhanihim waqrun wa huwa 'alayhim 'ama. Ula'ika yunadawna min makanin ba'id

“ Say, "It is, for those who believe, a guidance and cure." And those who do not believe , in their ears is deafness, and it is upon them blindness. Those are being called from a distant place. ”

The Dua of Prophet Zakariyya (AS) in Physical Weakness

قَالَ رَبِّ إِنِّي وَهَنَ الْعَظْمُ مِنِّي وَاشْتَعَلَ الرَّأْسُ شَيْبًا وَلَمْ أَكُن بِدُعَائِكَ رَبِّ شَقِيًّا ۝

Qala rabbi inni wahanal-'azmu minni washta'alar-ra'su shayba, wa lam akun bidu'a'ika rabbi shaqiyya

“ He said, "My Lord, indeed my bones have weakened, and my head has filled with white, and never have I been in my supplication to You, my Lord, unhappy." ”

The Dua of Istikhara

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْتَخِيرُكَ بِعِلْمِكَ، وَأَسْتَقْدِرُكَ بِقُدْرَتِكَ، وَأَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ الْعَظِيمِ، فَإِنَّكَ تَقْدِرُ وَلَا أَقْدِرُ، وَتَعْلَمُ وَلَا أَعْلَمُ، وَأَنْتَ عَلَّامُ الْغُيُوبِ. اللَّهُمَّ إِنْ كُنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّ هَٰذَا الْأَمْرَ خَيْرٌ لِي فِي دِينِي وَمَعَاشِي وَعَاقِبَةِ أَمْرِي، فَاقْدُرْهُ لِي وَيَسِّرْهُ لِي ثُمَّ بَارِكْ لِي فِيهِ. وَإِنْ كُنْتَ تَعْلَمُ أَنَّ هَٰذَا الْأَمْرَ شَرٌّ لِي فِي دِينِي وَمَعَاشِي وَعَاقِبَةِ أَمْرِي، فَاصْرِفْهُ عَنِّي وَاصْرِفْنِي عَنْهُ، وَاقْدُرْ لِيَ الْخَيْرَ حَيْثُ كَانَ ثُمَّ أَرْضِنِي بِهِ

Allahumma inni astakhiruka bi 'ilmik, wa astaqdiruka bi qudratik, wa as'aluka min fadlikal-'azim. Fa innaka taqdiru wa la aqdir, wa ta'lamu wa la a'lam, wa anta 'allamul-ghuyub. Allahumma in kunta ta'lamu anna hadhal-amra khayrun li fi dini wa ma'ashi wa 'aqibati amri, faqdurhu li wa yassirhu li thumma barik li fih. Wa in kunta ta'lamu anna hadhal-amra sharrun li fi dini wa ma'ashi wa 'aqibati amri, fasrifhu 'anni wasrifni 'anh, waqdur liyal-khayra haythu kana thumma ardini bih

“ O Allah, I seek Your guidance through Your knowledge, and I seek strength through Your power, and I ask You of Your immense bounty. For You are able and I am not, You know and I do not, and You are the Knower of all that is hidden. O Allah, if You know that this matter is good for me in my religion, my livelihood and the outcome of my affairs, then decree it for me, make it easy for me, and bless me in it. And if You know that this matter is bad for me in my religion, my livelihood and the outcome of my affairs, then turn it away from me and turn me away from it, and decree for me what is good wherever it may be, then make me content with it. ”

Dua-e-Qunoot Taught to Al-Hasan ibn 'Ali (RA)

اللَّهُمَّ اهْدِنِي فِيمَنْ هَدَيْتَ، وَعَافِنِي فِيمَنْ عَافَيْتَ، وَتَوَلَّنِي فِيمَنْ تَوَلَّيْتَ، وَبَارِكْ لِي فِيمَا أَعْطَيْتَ، وَقِنِي شَرَّ مَا قَضَيْتَ، فَإِنَّكَ تَقْضِي وَلَا يُقْضَىٰ عَلَيْكَ، وَإِنَّهُ لَا يَذِلُّ مَنْ وَالَيْتَ، تَبَارَكْتَ رَبَّنَا وَتَعَالَيْتَ

Allahummahdini fiman hadayt, wa 'afini fiman 'afayt, wa tawallani fiman tawallayt, wa barik li fima a'tayt, wa qini sharra ma qadayt, fa innaka taqdi wa la yuqda 'alayk, wa innahu la yadhillu man walayt, tabarakta rabbana wa ta'alayt

“ O Allah, guide me among those You have guided, grant me well-being among those You have granted well-being, take me into Your care among those You have taken into Your care, bless me in what You have given, and protect me from the evil of what You have decreed. For You decree and none can decree against You. Indeed, none whom You befriend is humiliated. Blessed are You, our Lord, and Exalted. ”

The Qunoot Commonly Recited in the Hanafi Tradition

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَسْتَعِينُكَ وَنَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَنُؤْمِنُ بِكَ وَنَتَوَكَّلُ عَلَيْكَ وَنُثْنِي عَلَيْكَ الْخَيْرَ، وَنَشْكُرُكَ وَلَا نَكْفُرُكَ، وَنَخْلَعُ وَنَتْرُكُ مَنْ يَفْجُرُكَ. اللَّهُمَّ إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَلَكَ نُصَلِّي وَنَسْجُدُ، وَإِلَيْكَ نَسْعَىٰ وَنَحْفِدُ، نَرْجُو رَحْمَتَكَ وَنَخْشَىٰ عَذَابَكَ، إِنَّ عَذَابَكَ بِالْكُفَّارِ مُلْحِقٌ

Allahumma inna nasta'inuka wa nastaghfiruka wa nu'minu bika wa natawakkalu 'alayka wa nuthni 'alaykal-khayr, wa nashkuruka wa la nakfuruk, wa nakhla'u wa natruku man yafjuruk. Allahumma iyyaka na'budu wa laka nusalli wa nasjud, wa ilayka nas'a wa nahfid, narju rahmataka wa nakhsha 'adhabak, inna 'adhabaka bil-kuffari mulhiq

“ O Allah, we seek Your help and Your forgiveness, we believe in You and rely upon You, and we praise You with all that is good. We are grateful to You and we do not deny You. We cast off and forsake whoever disobeys You. O Allah, You alone we worship; to You we pray and prostrate; to You we strive and hasten. We hope for Your mercy and fear Your punishment. Indeed, Your punishment will overtake the disbelievers. ”

Dua of Witr , Seeking Refuge in Allah's Pleasure

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِرِضَاكَ مِنْ سَخَطِكَ، وَبِمُعَافَاتِكَ مِنْ عُقُوبَتِكَ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْكَ، لَا أُحْصِي ثَنَاءً عَلَيْكَ، أَنْتَ كَمَا أَثْنَيْتَ عَلَىٰ نَفْسِكَ

Allahumma inni a'udhu bi ridaka min sakhatik, wa bi mu'afatika min 'uqubatik, wa a'udhu bika mink, la uhsi thana'an 'alayk, anta kama athnayta 'ala nafsik

“ O Allah, I seek refuge in Your pleasure from Your displeasure, and in Your pardon from Your punishment, and I seek refuge in You from You. I cannot enumerate Your praise; You are as You have praised Yourself. ”

Remembrance After Completing Witr

سُبْحَانَ الْمَلِكِ الْقُدُّوسِ

Subhanal-Malikil-Quddus

“ Glory be to the King, the Most Holy. ”

The Opening Supplication of Tahajjud

اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ، أَنْتَ نُورُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَنْ فِيهِنَّ، وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْتَ قَيِّمُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالْأَرْضِ وَمَنْ فِيهِنَّ، وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ أَنْتَ الْحَقُّ، وَوَعْدُكَ الْحَقُّ، وَلِقَاؤُكَ حَقٌّ، وَالْجَنَّةُ حَقٌّ، وَالنَّارُ حَقٌّ، وَالنَّبِيُّونَ حَقٌّ، وَالسَّاعَةُ حَقٌّ. اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ أَسْلَمْتُ، وَبِكَ آمَنْتُ، وَعَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْتُ، وَإِلَيْكَ أَنَبْتُ، وَبِكَ خَاصَمْتُ، وَإِلَيْكَ حَاكَمْتُ، فَاغْفِرْ لِي مَا قَدَّمْتُ وَمَا أَخَّرْتُ، وَمَا أَسْرَرْتُ وَمَا أَعْلَنْتُ، أَنْتَ الْمُقَدِّمُ وَأَنْتَ الْمُؤَخِّرُ، لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ

Allahumma lakal-hamd, anta nurus-samawati wal-ardi wa man fihinn. Wa lakal-hamd, anta qayyimus-samawati wal-ardi wa man fihinn. Wa lakal-hamd, antal-haqq, wa wa'dukal-haqq, wa liqa'uka haqq, wal-jannatu haqq, wan-naru haqq, wan-nabiyyuna haqq, was-sa'atu haqq. Allahumma laka aslamt, wa bika amant, wa 'alayka tawakkalt, wa ilayka anabt, wa bika khasamt, wa ilayka hakamt. Faghfir li ma qaddamtu wa ma akhkhart, wa ma asrartu wa ma a'lant. Antal-Muqaddimu wa antal-Mu'akhkhir, la ilaha illa ant

“ O Allah, to You belongs all praise; You are the Light of the heavens and the earth and all within them. To You belongs all praise; You are the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and all within them. To You belongs all praise; You are the Truth, Your promise is true, the meeting with You is true, Paradise is true, the Fire is true, the Prophets are true, and the Hour is true. O Allah, to You I have submitted, in You I believe, upon You I rely, to You I turn in repentance, by You I contend, and to You I refer for judgment. So forgive me what I have sent before and what I have left behind, what I have concealed and what I have declared. You are the One who brings forward and the One who puts back; there is no deity except You. ”

Dua on Waking During the Night

لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ، الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ، وَسُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ، وَلَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ، وَاللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ، وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ. رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِي

La ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lah, lahul-mulku wa lahul-hamdu wa huwa 'ala kulli shay'in qadir. Alhamdulillah, wa subhanallah, wa la ilaha illallah, wallahu akbar, wa la hawla wa la quwwata illa billah. Rabbighfir li

“ There is no deity except Allah alone, without partner. To Him belongs the dominion and to Him belongs all praise, and He is over all things competent. Praise be to Allah, glory be to Allah, there is no deity except Allah, Allah is the Greatest, and there is no might nor power except with Allah. My Lord, forgive me. ”

Dua for Breaking the Fast (Iftar)

ذَهَبَ الظَّمَأُ وَابْتَلَّتِ الْعُرُوقُ وَثَبَتَ الْأَجْرُ إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ

Dhahabaz-zama'u wabtallatil-'uruqu wa thabatal-ajru in sha'Allah

“ The thirst has gone, the veins are moistened, and the reward is confirmed, if Allah wills. ”

Supplication at the Time of Iftar

اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي لَكَ صُمْتُ وَعَلَىٰ رِزْقِكَ أَفْطَرْتُ

Allahumma inni laka sumtu wa 'ala rizqika aftart

“ O Allah, for You I have fasted and upon Your provision I have broken my fast. ”

Dua for Taraweeh & The Night Standing

اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ، وَلَكَ الْمُلْكُ، وَلَكَ الثَّنَاءُ، رَبَّنَا تَقَبَّلْ مِنَّا إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ

Allahumma lakal-hamd, wa lakal-mulk, wa lakath-thana'. Rabbana taqabbal minna innaka antas-Sami'ul-'Alim

“ O Allah, to You belongs all praise, to You belongs the dominion, and to You belongs all commendation. Our Lord, accept from us; indeed You are the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing. ”

Dua for Laylat al-Qadr

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي

Allahumma innaka 'afuwwun tuhibbul-'afwa fa'fu 'anni

“ O Allah, You are Most Pardoning and You love to pardon, so pardon me. ”

Dua After the Adhan

اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ هَٰذِهِ الدَّعْوَةِ التَّامَّةِ، وَالصَّلَاةِ الْقَائِمَةِ، آتِ مُحَمَّدًا الْوَسِيلَةَ وَالْفَضِيلَةَ، وَابْعَثْهُ مَقَامًا مَحْمُودًا الَّذِي وَعَدْتَهُ

Allahumma rabba hadhihid-da'watit-tammah, was-salatil-qa'imah, ati Muhammadanil-wasilata wal-fadilah, wab'ath-hu maqaman mahmudanilladhi wa'adtah

“ O Allah, Lord of this perfect call and the prayer to be established, grant Muhammad (ﷺ) the intercession and the excellence, and raise him to the praised station which You have promised him. ”

Dua After Wudu (Ablution)

أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ

Ash-hadu an la ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lah, wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan 'abduhu wa rasuluh

“ I bear witness that there is no deity except Allah alone, without partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad (ﷺ) is His servant and His Messenger. ”

The Completing Words After Ablution

اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنِي مِنَ التَّوَّابِينَ وَاجْعَلْنِي مِنَ الْمُتَطَهِّرِينَ

Allahummaj'alni minat-tawwabina waj'alni minal-mutatahhirin

“ O Allah, make me among those who turn to You in repentance, and make me among those who purify themselves. ”

Dua Before Sleep

بِاسْمِكَ اللَّهُمَّ أَمُوتُ وَأَحْيَا

Bismika Allahumma amutu wa ahya

“ In Your name, O Allah, I die and I live. ”

Entrusting the Soul Before Sleep

اللَّهُمَّ أَسْلَمْتُ نَفْسِي إِلَيْكَ، وَفَوَّضْتُ أَمْرِي إِلَيْكَ، وَأَلْجَأْتُ ظَهْرِي إِلَيْكَ، رَغْبَةً وَرَهْبَةً إِلَيْكَ، لَا مَلْجَأَ وَلَا مَنْجَا مِنْكَ إِلَّا إِلَيْكَ، آمَنْتُ بِكِتَابِكَ الَّذِي أَنْزَلْتَ، وَبِنَبِيِّكَ الَّذِي أَرْسَلْتَ

Allahumma aslamtu nafsi ilayk, wa fawwadtu amri ilayk, wa alja'tu zahri ilayk, raghbatan wa rahbatan ilayk, la malja'a wa la manja minka illa ilayk, amantu bi kitabikal-ladhi anzalt, wa bi nabiyyikal-ladhi arsalt

“ O Allah, I submit my soul to You, I entrust my affair to You, and I turn my back to You for support, in hope and fear of You. There is no refuge and no escape from You except to You. I believe in Your Book which You revealed and in Your Prophet whom You sent. ”

Dua Upon Waking

الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَحْيَانَا بَعْدَ مَا أَمَاتَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ النُّشُورُ

Alhamdu lillahil-ladhi ahyana ba'da ma amatana wa ilayhin-nushur

“ All praise is for Allah, who gave us life after He caused us to die, and to Him is the resurrection. ”

Dua in the Funeral Prayer (Salat al-Janazah)

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْهُ، وَعَافِهِ وَاعْفُ عَنْهُ، وَأَكْرِمْ نُزُلَهُ، وَوَسِّعْ مُدْخَلَهُ، وَاغْسِلْهُ بِالْمَاءِ وَالثَّلْجِ وَالْبَرَدِ، وَنَقِّهِ مِنَ الْخَطَايَا كَمَا نَقَّيْتَ الثَّوْبَ الْأَبْيَضَ مِنَ الدَّنَسِ، وَأَبْدِلْهُ دَارًا خَيْرًا مِنْ دَارِهِ، وَأَهْلًا خَيْرًا مِنْ أَهْلِهِ، وَزَوْجًا خَيْرًا مِنْ زَوْجِهِ، وَأَدْخِلْهُ الْجَنَّةَ، وَأَعِذْهُ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ وَمِنْ عَذَابِ النَّارِ

Allahummaghfir lahu warhamh, wa 'afihi wa'fu 'anh, wa akrim nuzulah, wa wassi' mudkhalah, waghsilhu bil-ma'i wath-thalji wal-barad, wa naqqihi minal-khataya kama naqqaytath-thawbal-abyada minad-danas, wa abdilhu daran khayran min darih, wa ahlan khayran min ahlih, wa zawjan khayran min zawjih, wa adkhilhul-jannah, wa a'idh-hu min 'adhabil-qabri wa min 'adhabin-nar

“ O Allah, forgive him and have mercy on him, grant him well-being and pardon him, honour his resting place and widen his entry. Wash him with water, snow and hail, and cleanse him of sins as a white garment is cleansed of dirt. Give him a home better than his home, a family better than his family, and a spouse better than his spouse. Admit him into Paradise, and protect him from the punishment of the grave and the punishment of the Fire. ”

A Comprehensive Dua for the Living and the Dead

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِحَيِّنَا وَمَيِّتِنَا، وَشَاهِدِنَا وَغَائِبِنَا، وَصَغِيرِنَا وَكَبِيرِنَا، وَذَكَرِنَا وَأُنْثَانَا. اللَّهُمَّ مَنْ أَحْيَيْتَهُ مِنَّا فَأَحْيِهِ عَلَى الْإِسْلَامِ، وَمَنْ تَوَفَّيْتَهُ مِنَّا فَتَوَفَّهُ عَلَى الْإِيمَانِ

Allahummaghfir li hayyina wa mayyitina, wa shahidina wa gha'ibina, wa saghirina wa kabirina, wa dhakarina wa unthana. Allahumma man ahyaytahu minna fa ahyihi 'alal-Islam, wa man tawaffaytahu minna fa tawaffahu 'alal-iman

“ O Allah, forgive our living and our dead, those present and those absent, our young and our old, our males and our females. O Allah, whoever among us You keep alive, keep him alive upon Islam, and whoever among us You take, take him upon faith. ”

Words Said Upon Receiving News of a Death

إِنَّا لِلَّهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ. اللَّهُمَّ أْجُرْنِي فِي مُصِيبَتِي وَاخْلُفْ لِي خَيْرًا مِنْهَا

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un. Allahumma'jurni fi musibati wakhluf li khayran minha

“ Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we shall return. O Allah, reward me for my affliction and replace it for me with something better. ”

Greeting the People of the Graves

السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكُمْ أَهْلَ الدِّيَارِ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُسْلِمِينَ، وَإِنَّا إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ بِكُمْ لَاحِقُونَ، نَسْأَلُ اللَّهَ لَنَا وَلَكُمُ الْعَافِيَةَ

As-salamu 'alaykum ahlad-diyari minal-mu'minina wal-muslimin, wa inna in sha'Allahu bikum lahiqun, nas'alullaha lana wa lakumul-'afiyah

“ Peace be upon you, O dwellers of these abodes among the believers and the Muslims. Indeed, we will, if Allah wills, join you. We ask Allah for well-being for us and for you. ”
