Transparent Hands plans to organize a free medical camp at Chungi Amar Sadhu Lahore. In this medical camp, our team of expert physicians will provide the following health facilities to deserving patients:

Free Hepatitis B and C screening
Free BSR and Blood Pressure tests
Free ophthalmological consultation and provision of glasses.
Free Tuberculosis screening

Challenges:

In the past three years, Lahore has been shuffling between the top two ranks of the world’s most polluted cities. The smog epidemic has added a new chapter of ophthalmological and respiratory diseases to the citizens’ lives. Poor air quality results in numerous adverse effects on the general health and wellbeing of the residents, especially affecting those living in remote areas or slums.

Exposure to bad air quality initially causes short-term illnesses such as eye, nose, and throat infections. Over time, it has the potential of leading to ophthalmological complications including acute Uveitis, numerous cardiorespiratory issues and a variety of cancers. Presently, due to COVID-19, the events have taken a grimmer turn by leaving the public health sector burdened to its maximum capacity. Due to saturation of patients at public hospitals, and limited health care facilities most diseases are going unnoticed and therefore remain untreated. Few diseases mentioned above have the potential of eventually worsening over time and may even prove to be fatal.

Our Solution:

Transparent Hands will organize a one-day medical camp at Chungi Amar Sadhu, Lahore, to provide free consultation and medicines to the affectees. Our health practitioners will also educate the residents about hygiene and the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle. The camp will further educate the residents about the necessary steps required in acquiring preventive measures against certain diseases. Patients who require undergoing surgeries will be provided free medical treatment at Life hospital in collaboration with Transparent Hands. Transparent Hands, in collaboration with Life Hospital organized and managed a free Medical and Surgical camp on March 07, 2021, at Jahangir High School, Etihad Park Chungi Amar Sadhu, Lahore. This camp was set up for the underprivileged residing in the said locality. The camp team consisted of twenty-two members including two supervisors, seven doctors (two male and five female), two pharmacists, two lab technologists, two patient registrars, two photographers, one female nurse and four crew workers. Free face masks were distributed among the patients and all other attendees. Testing facilities for Hepatitis B and C, Basic Eye Exam, Eye Cataracts, Blood Sugar Level and Blood Pressure were provided. In total 634 were provided free consultation, medicines and prescribed eye-glasses.

The medical camp of Jahangir High School, Etihad Park Chungi Amar Sadhu, Lahore organized by Transparent Hands has played an instrumental role in assisting the six hundred and thirty-four patients that turned up at the Chungi Amr Sadhu medical camp. Four surgical cases, six eye cataract removal and four Hepatitis C positive cases have been registered with us. Further medical and surgical care shall be provided to the said registered patients in association with Life Hospital. In future, we look forward to organizing such camps where we can be of service to the underprivileged patients in Pakistan and facilitate them with health care. We believe health care to be a primary and basic right of all human beings.
