Transparent Hands is organizing a free medical camp in Karachi to provide healthcare services to underprivileged communities that face barriers in access to medical care. Karachi is one of the largest cities in Pakistan. However, many patients are unable to access quality healthcare. We have decided to make quality healthcare accessible to them. They will receive a comprehensive set of medical services, ranging from free check-ups and medical lab tests to ultrasound scans and medications.

Challenges:

The residents of Karachi suffer from many non-communicable diseases. According to a WHO report, the prevalence of pre-diabetes is 40%, hypertension is 18% and diabetes is 8% in Karachi.

In the bustling city of Karachi, a significant portion of the population, particularly in low-income areas, cannot afford medical treatment, leaving many health conditions undiagnosed and untreated.

Solution:

To address these health challenges, Transparent Hands is stepping in to offer a solution. Our free medical camp will provide general check-ups, diagnostic tests, and medications to deserving people of Karachi. Patients will receive screenings for chronic conditions such as high blood pressure and diabetes, with free medicines provided on-site. Our team of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and lab technicians will offer the following free medical services at our upcoming free medical camp in Karachi.

Transparent Hands, with the collaboration of Nixor College, recently organized a free medical camp and preventive healthcare session to provide quality healthcare to impoverished patients. The free medical camp was held on 9th November 2024 at The East Educator School, Old Muzaffarabad Colony, Landhi, Karachi.

Free Consultations, Medicines, and Diagnostic Tests

A total of 303 deserving patients received free consultations from our expert doctors. Medicines, general check-ups, blood pressure check-ups, diabetes tests, uric acid tests, hepatitis B & C screenings, and cholesterol tests were provided free of charge. Preventive Healthcare Session

Our expert doctors held a preventive healthcare session for the attendees at the free medical camp in Karachi. The session focused on personal hygiene. The doctors discussed how the lack of personal hygiene can cause various health problems and the ways to improve personal hygiene.

Diseases and Treatments

At the free medical camp in Karachi, most of the patients who received consultations were suffering from skin allergies, fever, diabetes, body pains, hypertension, gastric problems, cough, flu, and weakness. Moreover, free medicines were given to a large number of deserving patients.

Impact

The free medical camp made a difference in the lives of 303 needy patients and their families.  By offering free consultations, lab tests, medicines, and treatments, we improved the health and well-being of needy individuals. Numerous patients in Karachi were unable to access timely interventions due to the lack of affordable medical care.  This camp helped people in the timely diagnosis of their illnesses and provided relevant medicines and treatments to tackle these issues.

A preventive healthcare session educated the residents on ways to improve personal hygiene. By learning preventive measures, individuals were empowered to take proactive measures to improve their quality of life.
