Recently, Transparent Hands’ executive management discussed key healthcare challenges and opportunities for collaboration with the senior leadership of the Health Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Transparent Hands’ Co-Founder, Rameeza Mueen, and VP Operations, Raheel Abbas, held a productive meeting with the Provincial Minister for Health, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Khaleeq ur Rehman, and Secretary Health, Fayyaz Ali Shah, at the Health Secretariat in Peshawar on August 27, 2026. Several MPAs and high-ranking officials also attended the meeting. 

The agenda of this meeting focused on a long-term collaboration between Transparent Hands and the Health Department of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to support eligible and deserving patients who are unable to access healthcare services. This potential collaboration would make medical and surgical care accessible to the communities in Mardan and the surrounding areas. Under a cost-sharing programme, it could bring cardiac and orthopedic surgeries within the reach of those who are unable to undergo that treatment under Sehat Card or other government-supported programs. 

Another key initiative that would be supported under the prospective partnership is to establish and run a Mother and Child Healthcare Center in Mardan or its vicinity in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The proposal includes the provision of a government-owned building or space for the MCH center. Only the best doctors and licensed professionals would be hired for the center, and no patient in need of emergency stabilization would be turned away just because they cannot afford treatment. 

Commenting on the meeting and the potential collaboration, Transparent Hands’ VP Operations Raheel Abbas said: “We’re currently exploring and discussing a partnership opportunity that can change numerous lives and make a lasting impact on Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s healthcare sector. It has the potential to bring essential healthcare services within the reach of thousands of underprivileged patients every year, especially mothers and children.”

The organization is hopeful that this first step towards a pivotal collaboration would lead to a lasting partnership. Such initiatives are key to ensuring a healthier future for the nation.
