We Brought Preventive Healthcare to Communities in Kalam
Transparent Hands recently organized a free medical and eye care camp to provide essential healthcare services to underprivileged patients. The free medical camp was held on 11th August 2024 in Kalam, KPK.
Free Consultations, Medicines, and Diagnostic Tests
A total of 650 deserving patients received free consultations from our expert doctors. Medicines, blood pressure check-ups, eye checkups, ultrasound scans, in addition to diabetes tests, uric acid tests, PCR, hepatitis B & C screenings, and eyeglasses were also provided free of charge. Diseases and Treatments
Most patients who received consultations suffered from flu, allergies, scabies, fever, diabetes, body pains, cough, cataract, pterygium, eye infections, and stomach issues. Additionally, free medicines were given to a large number of needy patients.
Preventive Healthcare Session
Our expert doctors delivered a preventive healthcare session to educate the attendees at the free medical camp. The session focused on the prevention and management of scabies, as it is a common health issue in this area. Scabies is an itchy skin rash caused by tiny mites called Sarcoptes scabiei, which burrow into the skin and cause extreme itching, especially at night.
Impact
The free medical camp made a difference in the lives of 650 needy patients and their families. We provided consultations, diagnostic tests, medicines as well as interventions, ensuring that everyone has access to necessary medical care. This medical camp played a pivotal role in improving the health and well-being of vulnerable communities in Kalam, leading to a more healthy and empowered society.
By bringing healthcare directly to this underserved region, we eliminated barriers related to distance and access and provided vital health solutions to those in need.
