English translation: Allahumma inni laka sumtu, wa bika aamantu, wa ‘alayka tawakkaltu, wa Ala rizqika aftartu

Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar and is extremely important in Islam. During Ramadan, Muslims fast, pray, reflect, and give alms generously. Many Muslims make their annual donations during Ramadan.

The following hadith related to Ramadan speaks of its importance: The Prophet (PBUH) was asked which fast was most virtuous after Ramadan? He said: “Sha’ban in honor of Ramadan” He said: “Which charity is best?” He (PBUH) said: “Charity in Ramadan.”

It is recommended that the following dua should be recited before breaking the fast in Ramadan: “Dhahaba al-zama wa’btalat al-‘uruq wa thabata al-ajr in sha Allah” [Abu Dawud: 2357]
