Let’s Improve Maternal and Child Health in Karachi

Transparent Hands is organizing a free maternal and child health camp to support underprivileged mothers and children in Karachi. It is one of the largest cities in Pakistan. However, many low-income residents face severe barriers when it comes to accessing quality healthcare services. Through this camp, we aim to address maternal and child health needs while also contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG 3), which focuses on ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being.

Challenges

In Karachi, overburdened government hospitals, lengthy waiting hours, and financial limitations leave women and children without essential medical care. People surviving in poverty delay seeking treatments. Moreover, they also lack awareness regarding the timely management of diseases. Consequently, minor health issues develop into serious complications, particularly for pregnant women and children.

According to a report, in Karachi, the pregnancy-related death rate is 345 per 100,000 live births.

Solution

Transparent Hands is setting up an impactful maternal and child health camp in Karachi. Our medical team, including a gynecologist, pediatrician, and nutritionist, will provide free medical services. Deserving patients who cannot afford medical care will finally have access to free consultations, diagnostic tests, and screenings within their own community.
