Transparent Hands plans to hold a free medical camp and preventive healthcare session in Okara, Punjab. The camp will offer medical support to the most disadvantaged residents of Okara. Many underprivileged individuals in Okara need medical attention and support. Our upcoming medical camp is also aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goal 3, which emphasizes ensuring health standards and promoting overall well-being. The camp will provide essential medical services including consultations, diagnostic tests, ultrasound scans, and medications.

Challenges
Okara has a limited number of public hospitals that are often overburdened and insufficient to meet the needs of the local population. Due to their limited access to healthcare, residents are at risk for many avoidable health issues.
According to a report by the National Institute of Health (NIH), common diseases in Okara include Malaria, Diarrhea, Typhoid, Tuberculosis, and Upper Respiratory Tract Infections.

Solution
Transparent Hands is organizing a free medical camp in Okara in response to several health issues. With our upcoming medical camp, we aim to improve the lives of many residents and help them live healthily. Preventive Healthcare Session
We firmly believe that prevention is better than cure. That’s why our doctors will conduct a preventive healthcare session at our upcoming medical camp in Okara. The session will educate residents about one of the common healthcare challenges in Okara and empower them to take pre-emptive measures to protect themselves against various diseases.

Transparent Hands, with the support of Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF), Association for Gender Awareness and Human Empowerment (AGAHE) and other Donors, organized a free medical camp and preventive healthcare session at Union Council Rohela Teje Ka, District Okara. The primary objective of this camp, held on June 26, 2025, was to provide essential medical support to deserving patients in Okara.

Free Consultations, Medicines, and Diagnostic Tests:

A total of 115 deserving patients received free consultations from expert doctors. In addition to consultations, the patients were provided with free medicines and underwent various diagnostic tests, including:

  •         Diabetes tests
  •         Uric acid tests
  •         Hepatitis B and C screenings  
  •         Cholesterol tests
  •         Blood pressure checkups

The camp also provided awareness about preventive healthcare and encouraged people to prioritize their health.
