Transparent Hands is arranging a free maternal and child health camp in Karachi to bring essential medical care to underprivileged mothers and children. Karachi is Pakistan’s most populous city. However, for many low-income communities in Karachi, access to quality healthcare is a distant dream due to financial hardships. This initiative is part of our ongoing efforts to improve access to quality healthcare and deliver medical support where it’s needed most.

Challenges
In Karachi, many needy patients are unable to obtain timely healthcare services due to their limited income and expensive medical treatments. Pregnant women often lack awareness of dietary needs and miss out on antenatal checkups. Children, on the other hand, face developmental issues and frequent illnesses due to poor nutrition and unmonitored health conditions.
According to a World Bank factsheet, Sindh has a Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) of 224 /100,000 live births.

Solution
In response to these challenges, Transparent Hands is organizing a free maternal and child health camp in Karachi. This camp will provide access to qualified doctors, diagnostic services, and nutritional guidance for women and children. Special attention will be given to pregnant women and to children showing signs of malnourishment or illness. The following services will be provided at this upcoming camp in Karachi.

An informative preventive healthcare session will also be conducted at the medical camp. It will focus on the Importance of Tetanus Toxoid Vaccination in Pregnancy. Our healthcare professional will educate expectant mothers on how this vaccination can provide protection.
