Transparent Hands is going to set up a free medical camp to provide preventive healthcare in Umerkot, Sindh. The residents of this area are battling with various health-related issues due to little to no options for accessing quality healthcare. After identifying the common healthcare challenges in this area, we have decided to extend our free medical care to low-income families in Umerkot. Through this medical camp, they will receive free consultations, lab tests, medicines as well as treatments.

Challenges:

In Umerkot, prevalent diseases, including diarrhea, tuberculosis, hepatitis, skin infections, and malnutrition, are impacting community health significantly. Moreover, malaria and flu are also common among children.

The limited availability of healthcare facilities has led to a situation where numerous individuals suffer from untreated health problems. The city’s significant proportion of the population is facing consequences due to inadequate healthcare systems. This dire situation calls for immediate action to address the healthcare needs of the community.

Solution:

To bring medical relief to the lives of the needy, Transparent Hands is going to arrange a free medical camp in Umerkot. People will receive free screenings and consultations for their health issues that would go undiagnosed otherwise. This free medical camp will be a glimmer of hope for deserving patients in Umerkot. Our team of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and lab technicians will offer the following services at our upcoming medical camp in Lahore.

Transparent Hands, with the collaboration of the Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) & Association for Water, Applied Education & Renewable Energy (AWARE), recently organized a free medical camp and preventive healthcare session to provide essential medical support to deserving patients. The free medical camp was held on 15h December 2024 at Govt. Boys High School, Village Babu Faqir Near Karna Mori, UC Atta Muhammad Pulli, District Umerkot.

Free Consultations, Medicines, and Diagnostic Tests

A total of 710 deserving patients received free consultations from our expert doctors. Medicines, general check-ups, blood pressure check-ups, diabetes tests, uric acid tests, hepatitis B & C screenings, and cholesterol tests were provided free of cost. Diseases and Treatments

Most of the patients who received consultations were suffering from flu, skin allergies, scabies, fever, diabetes, body pains, cough, and stomach issues. Moreover, free medicines were given to a large number of deserving patients in Umerkot.

Preventive Healthcare Session

Our expert doctors held a preventive healthcare session for the attendees at the free medical camp. The session focused on the management and prevention of common cold and flu.

Impact

The free medical camp made a difference in the lives of 710 deserving patients and their families. In Umerkot, this medical camp served as a lifeline for individuals with limited access to healthcare. Needy patients benefitted from free check-ups, medicines, and diagnostic services, ensuring timely and quality care for many families. The camp provided much-needed relief to the local community by addressing their essential health issues.
