Delivering Quality Healthcare to the Underserved Community of Jhimpir, Thatta
Recently, Transparent Hands, in sponsorship with Descon Power Solution Private Limited and Metro Power Company Limited, hosted a free medical camp and preventive healthcare session to make quality healthcare accessible to impoverished patients. The free medical camp was held at Metro Power Company Limited, Goth Qasim Barfat Tehsil Jhampir, District Thatta, Sindh, on June 22, 2023.
Free Consultations, Medicines, and Diagnostic Tests
During the free medical camp of Jhampir, a total of 321 deserving patients received free consultations from expert doctors. In addition to consultations, patients received medications and underwent important screenings and examinations for diabetes, hepatitis B and C, cholesterol, uric acid, typhoid, and blood pressure. A total of 32 lab tests were also conducted during the medical camp. All of these services were provided for free to the patients, ensuring that they had access to vital healthcare services.
Diseases and Treatments
The majority of patients seeking consultation had a fever, flu, cough, earache, mouth ulcers, migraine, seasonal allergies, abdominal pain, skin infections, asthma, diabetes, digestive issues, diarrhea, body pain, backache, kidney stones, epilepsy, and joint pain.
Preventive Healthcare Session
During the session focused on cleanliness and personal hygiene, participants received practical advice for maintaining a healthy lifestyle from an expert doctor. They learned the importance of regular handwashing, dental hygiene, and maintaining a clean home.

The medical camp team of Jhampir consisted of 10 members, including two supervisors, two doctors (one female and one male), one nurse, one lab technician, two pharmacists, two patient registrars, and one photographer.
