Free Medical Camp Held at Derawar Fort, Cholistan on March 13, 2022

Transparent Hands, in partnership with Breeo Premium, arranged a free medical camp to provide quality treatments to patients belonging to underprivileged communities. The medical camp was held at Derawar Fort, Cholistan, Punjab, on March 13, 2022. 

Free consultations, medicines, and diagnostic tests

A total of 125 deserving patients received free consultations. In addition to free medicines, blood sugar tests, blood pressure tests, and hepatitis B and C screenings were also provided free of charge. Since malnutrition is prevalent in the area, the team distributed nutritional supplements as well. The medical camp was organized and managed by Transparent Hands and Breeo Premium sponsored it. Some volunteers associated with Breeo Premium also accompanied the medical camp team.

Medical camp team

The medical camp team consisted of 16 members, including a supervisor, four doctors (two males and two females), a female nurse, two pharmacists, a lab technician, a patient registrar, a photographer, and five crew workers. 

Awareness session on nutrition

Malnutrition is prevalent in the Cholistan desert. To address this health problem, an awareness session on nutrition was also held for all the mothers and children at the medical camp. Besides this, nutritional supplements and food samples were distributed among attendees. All COVID SOPs such as wearing face masks, hand sanitization, and social distancing were followed at the medical camp. In addition, the patients received face masks and hand sanitizers free of charge. 

Diseases and treatments

Most of the patients who sought consultation were suffering from flu, cough, fever, diabetes, pains, hypertension, gastric problems, and allergies. Free medicines were given to a large number of deserving patients. Only one patient was advised to undergo surgery. 

Impact

The free medical camp made a lasting difference in the lives of more than 120 patients and their families. In 2022, Transparent Hands aims to arrange 100 free medical camps across Pakistan.
