Free Medical Camp Held in Bari Imam, Islamabad, on March 16, 2023

Transparent Hands recently held a free medical camp and preventive healthcare session to make quality healthcare available to impoverished patients of the transgender community. The free medical camp was held in Bari Imam, Islamabad. 

Free Consultations, Medicines, and Diagnostic Tests

Our medical team of doctors, nurses, and pharmacists provided comprehensive medical care to 47 transgender patients. Services offered at the camp were:

• First Aid
• Medicines 
• Hepatitis B & C Screenings 
• Blood Sugar Test
• Blood Pressure Checkup
• Uric Acid Test
• Cholesterol Test
• Ultrasound
• Typhoid Test

Diseases and Treatments

The patients had a variety of health issues, including the flu, cough, fever, seasonal allergies, diarrhea, diabetes, abdominal pain, skin infections, Hepatitis C, migraine, and body pain. A total of 58 screening tests were also performed. Three surgical cases were also registered. 

Preventive Healthcare 

A doctor held a preventive healthcare session for all attendees at the medical camp. The doctor told the people there about healthy habits and diets and how important it is to follow good hygiene practices.

Impact

This free medical camp made a difference in the lives of 47 deserving transgender patients by addressing their medical needs. This community suffered due to a lack of doctors and quality healthcare facilities. Our committed team of medical professionals examined the patients using the latest diagnostic equipment. Patients were given free medicines as well as a preventive healthcare session on healthy hygiene practices.
