You Helped us to Support a Marginalized Christian Community with Essential Medical Services

Transparent Hands, with a sponsorship from Confiz Limited, recently held a free medical camp and a preventive healthcare session as part of a life-saving program to help the Christian community get free medical care. The free medical camp was held at the El Shaddai School, Kot Lakhpat, on 26th May 2023. Moreover, Allah Walay Trust also participated in the medical camp to provide free eye checkups to deserving patients. They examined 200 patients and provided 170 of them with free spectacles to help them with weak eye-sight. 

Free Consultations, Medicines, and Diagnostic Tests

Our medical team, which included doctors, nurses, and pharmacists, provided a wide range of healthcare services to 385 deserving patients. The services they offered at the camp were:

• Hepatitis B & C Screenings 
• Blood Sugar Test
• Blood Pressure Checkups
• Uric Acid Test
• Cholesterol Test
• Eye-checkups 

Most Common Diseases 

The patients were diagnosed with various health problems, such as fever, flu, cough, asthma, seasonal allergies, chest infection, eye infection, migraine, body pain, diarrhea,  Hepatitis, diabetes, jaundice, uric acid, high blood pressure, cardiac issues, and bodily weakness. Two surgery cases were also found during this medical camp. A total of 146 tests for hepatitis B and C, uric acid, cholesterol, and BSR  were also conducted. 

Preventive Healthcare Session

An expert doctor held a preventive healthcare session to educate attendees about taking care of their health by staying clean and practicing good hygiene. They talked about important tips like washing hands properly, taking regular baths, and keeping their teeth clean. The goal was to help everyone understand how these simple habits can prevent illnesses and keep them healthy.

Impact

The free medical camp held at Kot Lakhpat, Lahore for Christian Community, had a significant impact on the lives of 385 deserving patients and their families. Many individuals who lacked access to medical care received essential health services and support during the camp. The medical team worked diligently to provide tailored care, addressing various health concerns and conducting screenings to identify potential risks. Eye check-ups by specialists were a crucial aspect of the camp, benefiting the local community that may have lacked access to eye care. Specialists diagnosed and treated various eye conditions, ensuring appropriate treatment and care. 

Alongside medical services, the camp prioritized preventive healthcare sessions, empowering patients with knowledge on staying healthy, preventing diseases, and managing chronic conditions. The success of the camp cannot be overstated, as it offered much-needed medical care, support, and health education to those who otherwise may not have received it. Transparent Hands, with the support of numerous donors, is dedicated to expanding access to high-quality healthcare in rural and suburban areas of Pakistan. 

Medical Camp Team

The medical camp team consisted of 14 members, including one supervisor, three doctors (two male and one female), one lab technician, one pharmacist, two patient registrars, one staff nurse, two crew workers, and one photographer.
