FAQs

Qurbani is a highly recommended practice, and it is a Sunnah. According to the Hanafi school of thought, Qurbani is wajib, and hence compulsory on every Muslim possessing wealth equal to or greater than the Nisab value.

While it is important to give a portion of the meat to the needy, there are no distinct rules about meat distribution. However, some recommended guidelines from Islamic scholars encourage dividing the Qurbani meat into three equal portions. One portion can be kept for personal consumption. The second portion should be reserved for relatives, neighbors, and friends, while the third portion should be distributed among the needy. However, many people choose to donate all three portions of Qurani, and it is permissible to do so.

The Qurbani can be performed on any of the three days of the Eid, but it must be conducted after the Eid al-Adha prayers.

Eid al Adha 2025 is expected to start on Saturday, June 7, 2025, and end on Monday, June 9, 2025.
