Challenge

Hattar Economic Zone is an industrial state in Haripur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The residents of this area have been suffering from skin diseases, allergies, and lung diseases. A large number of the people who live there cannot pay for the treatments they need to survive. Lack of access to quality surgical and medical care is also a major issue in the district. 

Our Solution

Transparent Hands’ upcoming medical camp is an effective solution to the problems faced by the residents of Hattar Economic Zone. Support our mission to provide free consultations, diagnostic tests, and medicines to those who cannot access these basic healthcare services due to financial constraints. Transparent Hands, in partnership with Atlas Copco, held a free medical camp with the vision to provide quality health care to deserving patients. The medical camp was organized at KPEZDMC Fire Brigade Office, Near HIA Office Phase 3, Hattar Economic Zone on May 12, 2022. The venue and meals were provided by KPEZDMC and Hattar Industrialists Association.

Free Consultations, Medicines, and Diagnostic Tests

A total of 368 patients belonging to underprivileged communities received free consultations. In addition to free medicines, the patients were also provided with blood sugar tests, blood pressure tests, and hepatitis B and C screenings free of charge.

Medical Camp Team

The medical camp team consisted of 17 members, including a supervisor, four doctors, two pharmacists, one photographer, two lab technicians, two female staff nurses, two patient registrars (one male and one female), and three crew workers.

Diseases and Treatments

Most of the patients who sought consultation were suffering from fever, eye diseases, diabetes, pains, hypertension, gastric problems, and flu. Free medicines were given to a large number of deserving patients. Only five patients needed to undergo surgeries.

Awareness Session

An awareness session on health and precautionary measures was also held for the patients and attendees. All COVID SOPs such as wearing face masks, hand sanitization, and social distancing were followed at the medical camp. In addition, the patients received face masks and hand sanitizers free of charge.

Impact

This free medical camp made a lasting difference in the lives of more than 360 patients and their families. This year, Transparent Hands aims to arrange 100 free medical camps across Pakistan. Thousands of donors and sponsors like Atlas Copco are supporting Transparent Hands’ mission to provide quality medical care to the underprivileged and remote areas of the country.
